Picked up a,Performance Tool 3/8 ''ths drive pylon bodied ratchet. Quick efficient ratcheting, beat it on it ,with 4 pound hammers. The damn tool, won't damn die. It's been two decades. List your loser, winner, and where you feel honest. (Yeah, the ratchet is still in use...)

I too have a ratchet I bought at a auto parts store 1/4'' drive cushion handle. It's at least 20 years old,Power House.Power Master,Power something was on the handle that has now worn off.Have used it daily.
Just like the old Timex (if you are over 50 you know)"Takes a licking and keeps on ticking".

Lately a long nosed jewlers pliers, great for smalls. Another goodie I have had for years is a marlin spike, super for lining holes up.

Probably a toss up between my drill press, Moto tool and Mig welder.

There is also the never let you down 4" grinder! I prob have a few hundred hours on my Makita, never even changed a brush set yet good tool.

That's what she said... :D

My grinder bit the dust...

I may have to get a Makita to replace it... Hmmmm......

Look for a older used one, the new ones are not as good. This one is prob late 80's

It's a Craftsman 9/16 combination wrench I "borrowed" from my dad's tools when I was 16 and modified to allow me to do something, that I subsequently learned the right way to do that did not need a special wrench. I use it on every engine I build, and most old cars because you gotta know where you've come from.

My hoist. Invalueable.
Helps me earn my living.

This guy is such a tool but a great friend. (look at him try to hide his beer) lol

My dewalt cordless grinder. Should have got one years ago.

The cheapo set of ratcheting wrenches I got at Pep Boys 20 years ago. Most used tools in my arsenal. They've got fine-tooth mechanisms and fairly slim heads, great for tight spots where you only get one click at a time
Only broke the 3/4" so far.
$30 well spent.

Not so much for automotive work, my #1 problem solver for the last 30 years has been my Makita reciprocating saw. My "Timex watch" of controlled destruction.

I guess it would be my angle head air tool used with multiple cutting and sanding discs.
I also use my Dremel a lot.

I picked up a new 1/4" short and long socket set with the rachet in the green steel box when I was 15 at a flea market. I am now 60 and still using it today, the brand is S K Tools. I can honestly say that I got my monies worth out of this tool. I think that I paid $10 for it or around that.

Hmmm, Like picking your favorite kid. LOL
Many tools that become the 'favorite' in the moment you can't get the job done without them.
I'll have to go with my Milwaukee cordless hammer drill...
