Need to vent wth is wrong with ppl

I "had" a friend that i would sell a part to every so often if he asked if i had it in the garage.
When i sold him an item,
i then saw it advertised on ebay for three times the price that i sold it to him for.
Then that got me pissed off, him profiting on what i sold it to him for.
When i was diagnosed with a potentially life ending illness you think it would have been nice of him to come up to me and ask, if i can help you sell your parts, and get full market value for them?
But no, he was one of the vultures, and piranhas, circling the driveway, waiting for me to die.
Well, i'm still standing, and haven't conked out yet.
I'm so pissed off towards humanity, that when i conk out, i told the executor of my estate to take a sledge hammer to whatever i have left, and bring it all down to Schnitzers Steel as scrap metal.
Nobody's going to get anything, as that's the way that i feel about it all, profiting from me at an estate sale after i'm gone.
My rant over.

I understand what you mean. But you can't let ppl bring you down to their level. You are a good person and if ppl try to take advantage of you then they will have to answer for that. Dont let the bad ones change who you are.

The trick is to give only something that can't be abused. Give them support. Knowledge. Even a high five.

On second thought, some would consider the high five assault and sue you.

Don't give cash and don't give food unless you're watching them eat. Otherwise, all I trust are the Shriners.

I will say this in front of everyone on this forum! Thank you very much dartfreak75 for having your heart in the right place to help this family! I do not know the family in need nor do I know you personally. God sees what you do, he knows what’s in your heart. God gives you the strength to look past people who make nasty comments and realize you have a lot of supporters and good friends on FABO!

Thank you for that. That's what I tell myself i know right from wrong and that's all that matters. I just dont get these ppl on Facebook and other social networking that just puts everyone down and constantly belittles and disrespects everyone. 99 times out of 100 I just ignore it and never give it a second thought but idk why this time that dude got to me. When he called me a peasant. Shew lordy. That **** better be glad he was on the other side of that computer Haha. I just dont get why anyone would want that kinda hate in their heart. I'm not a rich man and I'm not a smart man but I am a caring person with a caring giving nature and that is what makes me a Man!! And any man regardless of your opinion on the matter wouldn't post no dumb disrespectful comments like that. I get it if you dont want to give money to GoFundMe honestly this is the first time I ever have. I just read that guys story and felt compelled to. Maybe it was God calling me. Or maybe it was just humanity idk. But I can not describe the feeling when I read those comments. And honestly I expected to get negative feedback about it I didnt care but i never expected something that hateful and evil!!

Mopardude62 is right.

Why not take this offense and turn it into something positive right here on our own home turf?? Organize a FABO Benefit Auction (like we used to do here all the time) with all proceeds going to our member AnswerBook! It would avoid the GoFundMe kind of suspicion and resurrect a very cool aspect of being a FABO Member. I'll kick in a PSC Gift Certificate to start it off.
Just an idea ... :D

I'm in how does that work? Donate parts to auction off??

Yes! People bid on donated items within an established time frame (i.e., ten days, two weeks, etc.) and the final winning high bids are paid directly into the auction recipient's own specified account.
Members who donate items often generously split or pay for the shipping of their item to the winner but are not obligated to.
These auctions have occurred here many times in the past so you should be able to find samples with the Search key.
Edit: here is one of the more recent ones. https://www.forabodiesonly.com/mopar/threads/benefit-auction-items-fabo-member-could-use-our-help.360354/
Together we CAN make a difference for one of our own.

I think that is a great idea!! How should we go about getting it started?

I guess I missed some of all the drama. I sent that family a very small amt. and promptly got thank you. I have not looked back at the go fund me thing anyway, not much of a facebbok guy except the car guys generally have enjopyable BS.

No drama on here bud! It was on Facebook. I shared the GoFundMe link on my Facebook and some ahole in one of the mopar groups wrote those nasty comments.

This is a general idea, not referring to anyone on the forum, but I believe there is a higher percentage of sociopaths in our society than ever before. There is nothing we can do about that, except "divorce" ourselves from people like that and stay away from them.

Not sure who did or said what, guess I need to try to find it. I am not a good computer person! I could not share his fund deal, because either I am too stupid to get it to work, or my computer is afraid I will screw something up!! ha... All I know is I do not always jump at sending people money. I a 70 and our income is considered poverty level. MY wife still works in her real estate business. after Trump's election, and I do not know it was him or what, but we went 18 months without a closing! A lot of nervous Mexicans down her . Good thing I had already sold off bunch of stuff. Things are way better I just hope by end of the year I will be back to where I was to begin with!!!!!
But I just say, trying to help someone in need should not get negative remarks from anyone. I always just hope the help I occasionally give will be deserved and appreciated. God will Bless, we just have to have faith.

No one here said or did anything. If you go back to my original post I posted a picture of the screen from Facebook. It was some guy on Facebook that did it it was no one here on fabo!!
I too am in the poverty class!! So I don't have much to offer either. But its not the amount it's the meaning behind it. Like the old saying . I gave 20 dollars and John doe gave 100 dollars every one looks down on me for only giving 20 and praises john for giving 100. But what they dont know is john has 100k in is bank account I only had 20!!!

Well said Brother

I got summoned to Federal jury duty in LA, ya know the kind you CAN'T refuse. It' a 3 hr drive to LA from here so I stay on familiar turf in Glendale, 20 minutes from the courthouse. I go to my favorite deli in Glendale after court. A rather destitute looking fellow sitting outside the back door, "Hey man, can you spare a few bucks so I can get something to eat?". I went inside and bought him the special of the day. "Here ya go man." I said on the way back to my truck. I still remember his exact words to this day "I'm not gonna eat that ****!". I guess he didn't need to eat as much as he thought.

Very sad!! There was a peddler here in town a few weeks ago I saw him on my way to Walmart. Had a sign will work for food the usual ya know. Well later that day I had to go back to town when i stopped at the stop sign where he was standing i looked down and his sign was laying there along with 3 or 4 bags of Wendy's/McDonalds full of food you could tell he hadn't eaten any of it. I still refuse to believe that kind of behavior over takes the good in ppl! At least 3 or 4 ppl was merciful enough to buy the man food what he done with that mercy is on his hands he will be judged for lying and deceiving!! And not by us!!

 I did see a guy in Santa Cruz, near the boardwalk carrying a sign and pan handling. His sign said in all truth "Why Lie? I need a beer". My wife stopped me from donating to that cause. God bless her good sense.

Lol I'd probably have bought him a 6 pack lol

"El Negro", the town drunk around here, does odd jobs. Just helped hoe all the new weeds in our empty lot (September/October are like Spring around here-"rainy season").

He also worked his *** off under my '65 Barracuda getting the last bits of undercoating removed. He seems to like all the work no one else is willing to do (myself included).

I pay him $100 pesos an hour which is about $6.00 US (and if he is too inebriated I ask him to come back tomorrow). Sometimes he comes back the next day, sometimes it is a week later when he finally shows up again.

Note: Mexico's minimum wage in 2018 is $88.36 pesos a day, NOT $88 pesos an hour. (I am still trying to figure out how many "hours" is considered a Mexican "work day.")

They were/are probly worried about being deported !!

I hope I never get in bad enough shape to have to beg for money,, But I dam sure wouldn`t do it on this website !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Aint been too long ago,a very well known member was asking for help, his wife was sick or something, he was, and has been buying parts for more than one engine and multiple cars since .
I am not the most trustful person that ever came down the pike anyway.

The member I am referring to was not begging for money. He posted a post about his hard times and a few other members myself included told him to start a GoFundMe. So he did. There is nothing wrong with asking for help. It doenst make you less of a man. It takes a bigger man to swallow your pride and do what you gotta do to help your family even if that means asking for help.

I think I saw that guy, but think I was in Seattle at the time. I gave him a buck for being honest, my wife frowned and made a face at me...lol

I don`t think this is the place to ask for help is what I`m saying.
I am not above helping people that need it .
