For Sale is a Carter Thermo Quad Mopar Carburetor 4846S, rated at 850 cfm, in used condition with normal signs of wear. Needs to be rebuilt. This carburetor has the press in jets. This has the choke parts as well. Everything move freely. History is unknown. Please look closely at all photographs, what you see is what you get. All parts are used and show signs of normal wear and tear which may include grease, rust, scratches, dents or nicks. Please ask question before buying, if you need additional pictures I will update the listing. Asking $220 plus shipping. I will only charge what is costs me.

Looks like my last post got closed. Sorry life happened and things got in the way of taking pictures of the inside of the carb.
If you need more pictures just let me know.

Does that carb have mechanical secondary air doors? Thats what it looks like..

I don’t know enough about thermoquads to answer that intelligently. If you’re looking at the upper link, it does not attach to the secondary door. The link swivels in the body and is part of the choke mechanism for the primaries. That group of bits on the upper rear drivers side is the choke parts that are offen missing.

All Carter 4 barrels have mechanical secondaries. AVS and TQ has an adjustable, spring loaded air valve to dial in secondary opening rate.
I know but i meant the secondary top air door..it opens by vacuum..I was thinking that competiton series had a mechanical secondary top air door and maybe a secondary pump shot too.

Mechanical top makes no sense. The secondary butterflies do that. A secondary pump shot is not necessary on a TQ. If the air valve is adjusted correctly, you get no bog and the dumping of gas to compensate for it, like a Holley. It is also why they are forgiving, being able to be adjusted for a wide engine size and rpm range.

No. It is very much like a stock carb minus a few parts. It does have the Spring loaded air door. (Top) But! No secondary pump shot. No internal cam to raise the metering rod tree, manual choke with driver side cable clamp provision. Splayed idle trim screws, Rochester sized fuel inlet facing down, 1 PVC port, 1 vacuum advance port, 1 rear vacuum port with threads for a brake booster. No passenger side to driver side rods to cross over. Unobstructed rear air door entry.
