Worked on the plane with my boys today scrapping paint off replacing the dash and up grading the instruments as well as replacing all the switches and anything that looked bad.

Most of the wiring is done in the Scamp had the battery plugged in today and tried everything to make sure all worked good. Made a few mistakes and got it all fixed but the break lights not working yet so will tackle that tomorrow. Hell of a day.

Boy that plane wound intimidate the heck outta me!
What are those "extras" Fred?

67 to about 70 tail light and side marker sockets and front park lamps I'm guessing. will never use them so thinking someone can.

I work on aircraft sheetmetal every day. Lycoming or continental? Carbed or injected? IP is looking good so far. The Kaiser 7075 T6 aluminum is some of what we keep in the rack in the department I run. What kind of avionics are going in the monster hole? Our RJs run Honeywell Primus systems. Older system, but might be a bit advanced for a prop job. Looks like it's a kit plane. Is it a home built you guys are refreshing?

4spdragtop, it's really not that intimidating after you seperate the systems out, just like on a car. What is intimidating is wiring though. Everything is the same color with only number tracers printed on the wires every foot or so. Nothing is typically color coded. I love auto electric trouble shooting but not aircraft, that's why I am a tin bender.

I don't know anything about aircraft but if you can read the tag it's 150 HP. he bought it out of California last summer and had the top end rebuilt by the pros and flew it here. The big hole in the dash is an upgraded dash all computerized should be here in a week I have know idea what my son bought but he was looking at 2 different ones 4 to 8 grand. I'm just the painter so I leave all the tech. stuff to my son. When we finish the plane we will pay a in specter to check it over real good before it ever leaves the ground.

My wiring kit on my car came with all the wires marked with there placement. Like left turn right turn and was pretty simple but paid 1,000 for the kit.But it's done and everything works but having problems with the back up lights not working all the time so guessing the neutral safety switch is bad.

Hey Steve if you can use the light sockets you can have them free just let me know.

Been busy around here so not much done on my car. but tranny cooling lines in and tucking wiring in and hooking up hoses. Waiting for the new power master Alt. Horn works for the first time in 5 years heads up turn signals work like they always did and everything but the back up lights work SO behind schedule but soon will get new mufflers and bucket seats, windshield and rear glass rubber, windows tinted, side marker lights and ???? **** what ever I need.
Having to work to pay for parts my retirement pays the monthly bills but not my car parts.
A lot of work but I do enjoy working on my car when I can, even the hard parts though frustrating.

I'm 1300 miles from Mo. from here. plus more to MINN.
Hope you get it done by then. Been putting some miles on mine , Runs good, rides nice and the modern seats make it feel like a new car.

O-320 Lycoming. Workhorse of the industry. And a fine airboat engine.

You get the backup lights figured out Fred? Absolutely beautiful.
Not yet Steve replaced the neutral safety switch and still having problems. The good part is it won't start in gear so that's a plus.
