Just picked up a 340 air cleaner that needs a repaint. I was going to use black wrinkle paint from the auto parts store. Is this the way to go? If so any tips for a good finish? Thanks.

Man that looks great Joe! Didn't know this could be done. I can ck with my local powder coaters and see if they offer it. Did the baking damage the gasket in the lid?

yea that gasket was removed before hand. can buy replacement gasket dirt cheap.. Mopar Air Cleaner Foam Seal Gasket NEW 440 426 413 400 383 361 340 DR045 | eBay
Used a spray bomb over primer, heat here is your friend. Sprayed evenly and then use a heat gun to get a even texture, looked factory.

Appreciate the responses. I guess I'll try the wrinkle paint first. Nice to have the powder coat option too.

It just depends on what time of the year you paint it.
Painting in the warmer months helps, or as mentioned a heat gun helps in the cooler months.
