I have a 69 dart 440 it was my dad's who has recently passed he raced this car in my childhood and I was amazed by the power of this car..but anyway the car has no factory wiring in had a msd 6al box..I can't get any spark ..I have a points distributor and nothing so I put a electronic one in and hot wired it in so to speak. And nothing..but when I hit the starter button engine will crank but no spark on the test light from the coil..but when I release the start button the test light will blink one time...any help will be greatly appreciated in this matter..its been 2 years since it was started..thank you and God bless..

Blue switched wire with yellow connector feeds power into dual ballast resistor.

Power out of ballast resistor goes to positive side of coil. Negative side of coil goes to distributor lead.

This is for a 5 pin brain box and dual ballast resistor.

4 pin brain boxes use the single ballast resistor.

Points distributor setups are simple to get going. Make sure the points are clean (no corrosion) can run a business card through them for a final clean. Set points at .018 ths and get the #1 cylinder to fire just before Top Dead Center.

Can go hot wire to positive side of coil (just to get it running) negative side of coil goes to points distributor lead. Gas and Go

With MSD make sure you have 12V in the START position.

Also, you can trigger it by jumping the wires to the dizzy.

PLEASE DO NOT POST this diagram without explanation. It is incorrect and misleading. The yellow wire DOES NOT connect to the "yellow start wire"

Ridgerunner.......you are attempting to connect an MSD? Have you been to the MSD site? There is a fairly complete troubleshooting procedure on there for the MSD boxes. You can trigger an MSD box with a points dist. you use the white wire.

I would NOT mess with additional electronics until you discover what is going on.

The ignition power mentioned above GOES DEAD during cranking, is called IGN1 and is normally dark blue, feeds one end of the ballast resistor.

The power which IS live during cranking is IGN2 is normally brown and hookes to the end of the ballast which goes to the coil+. This is live during cranking and feeds full battery power to the coil +

Be careful hooking up MSD. There are NO wires going to the coil with MSD other than the two from the MSD box, and NO tach and NO radio suppression capacitor
