Big block dart what's up

It was updated, but you gotta learn what's where all over again. I especially liked the Moog suspension applications, which I haven't found how to access yet.

I love software folks. Its like they don't even have to think about here job. Here is a completely different layout where we made the easy way to do things harder and more involved, took away abilities to search but doesn't it look cool! We increased the ad area by 30%! You see this in Windows, Android, your microwave, etc. Today I was complaining at SolidWorks because some software guy changed the way you explode assemblies. The old way was fine and easy to use, oh no that **** had to go to a cumbersome process requiring more steps.

A programmers hell should be a lifetime of having to use their own stuff. Because if they did, they'd realize how bad it turned out.

I agree. At my job, a college, it literally takes 13 clicks from when I log in to my computer to simply "punch in". It includes a security confirmation call to the (my choice) shop phone. But the way it's set up, people have the option of logging in & out on their cell phones! "wink, wink" :realcrazy:

I used the wayback website archive to download all the tech info over at Big Block Dart. Apparently the information will be loaded back up at some point, but my understanding is that it will take some time.

Is this the Moog info you wanted?

I still check in there from time to time, but there's not much going on. That was the first forum I was ever a part of.
I don't blame Bill for getting out. He has a business to run.

I always found the forum to be pretty dead.

The tech info pages were great though, which is why I went through the archive service to make sure I downloaded all of it. So, if there's something that was in the tech pages you really want, shoot me a PM and describe it and I may be able to send a copy your way.

Kinda on the same subject the same thing has happened to Mymopar.com too.

Software has to be updated/upgraded guys. Software companies go out of business, new hardware and operating systems don't always support the old software, and old software can become vulnerable to hackers too. Increasing demand for server space can require new hardware, new hardware usually needs new software, and around and around we go.

Believe me, I don't like it either. But nothing stays the same forever, so you'd better figure out a way to deal with it. I just try to make sure I have a copy of the stuff I use/reference all the time. Just like keeping a library of shop manuals for the stuff I drive.

It used to be a pretty busy place about 15-ish years ago. Great group over their back then.

It was. And lordy TONS of info. If they ever get it back "right" we should go over and visit.....but until then, screw it.

I sold my 68 post 440-727-8 3/4 Dart before I got it running.

Helped me big time when I built my hardtop. Down the drain now. I too miss the Tech. Pages and sometimes look to see if they are back.

That's the "microsoft way".

I remember counting the increased work to get to a network properties screen once from one version to the next.

Twenty six additional mouse clicks.

To do something my crew did many times in a given week.

That place was how I got started on a big block Dart. Used to be busy with tons of traffic. Things got political during an election year and a lot of people left. Then if I remember right Bill sold the website. After that change it looks like there are weeks in between postings.

Don't get me started! OK, I'm started. Today's developers are out for the spit & polish, the flash. Coding and ease of use are secondary thoughts. Great example of "snowflake thinking". My generation was very proud of their work ethic, results, and excellence. I was proud to serve in the US Air Force and thoroughly enjoyed my work and the mission we supported. The younger folks who were coming through the pipeline did not have that same vision. It was more of a job to them with a "what's in it for me" mentality. Off topic, sorry. Ugh.

^^And along with this^^ "to hell" with the rest of us with our slower processors and lack of "big" ram and video cards. Keep it simple, keep it functional Leave the raz-mataze for the **** sites

AND DO NOT EVER design a website with a brilliant white background such as Google, Ebay, and thousands of others
