I met a new doctor the other day, a surgeon. He's big. All the other male doctors I have met are lean, and the females too for that matter. Thoughts like 'if he can't take care of himself, how the hell can he take care of me?' run through my mind. I'm probably making too much of it.

Interesting point

I dont know..but I DO know I don't trust skinny waitresses

BUT we're talking about a cutter here
So, consider the best mechanic you know, or the best body man, and now think of the heap they drive

I don't think it has anything to do with his qualifications as a doctor. Some guys are big. Some people have better discipline in certain areas. Doesn't mean he doesn't know his stuff. I don't necessarily trust all the skinny people either. I work with a couple of guys that I don't think are going to make it much past 50 years old but they act like they are granola incarnate. Life is about balance. Now if he's 450 lbs and hasn't seen his pecker in fifteen years, that may be a different story. One thing I do know, is a fat guy shouldn't question a heavy doctor's qualifications. We're all adults and should know what is good for us and not, by now.

My doc is fat.Hes a hell of a great guy.Saved me several times instead of sending me to the ER and a Hugh bill

I know a few doctors, they are about the least healthy people I know. Smokers, drink to excess, eat shiitty, you name it. I think they feel like since they know medicine, they don't have to worry about basic good health practices.

Maybe he's been swallowing a lot of aggression? Along with a lot of pizzas!.......Name that movie:)

I had a Chiropractor once, had to be there before 10 AM or he was drunk on his ***. Big dude too!

My friend that recommended him, told me for sure,to get there early, just did not say WHY!!!!! I got there a little late! After the first "crunch" I noticed how red his face was! But he fixed me!

Some people just cant lose weight .

I really have to work at weight control..... Unless I eat lots of bacon , pasta , tacos , pizza and beer I stay around 179 lbs ! Lol .. up to 195 right now and horrified ! That will go away once hockey goes back to 3-4 skates per week .
I am one of the lucky ones .

I don't think it would bother me. My last Dr. was a little Italian guy wonderful man. Had him a long time. He retired last year. My new Dr. is a female its hard to look at her she is young and gorgeous.

That yearly prostate check has got to be interesting....

i got my first one 2 years ago (a bit early because if my family history)

my doc was also female, and i happened to be her last procedure of the day
maybe that is why she came to do her post prodecural chat before the anesthetic was completely wore off

anyways, she told he how the procedure went, and apparently (i dont remember this, but the wife reminds me of it from time to time) i asked her how she liked the view

i guess that was the wrong thing to ask

Thx for all the replies.
I looked him up on the net. Very many 1 star reviews and few 5 star, but a lot of them address his bedside manner. I only have until Thursday to decide, but I'll likely go through it.

My last surgeon was a female and she helped me a lot. Young and beautiful, pure class, from India. Love and respect at first sight for me. It does take a bit of willpower to fight off the attraction and be professional. I won't have that problem with my new 'husky' doc anyway.

just think of the bedside manner of our previous president and the guy before him and see what they did to build/destroy our country

(also keep in mind, more people leave reviews to gripe then to rave)

F@ck it, I just cancelled. They wanted me to sit in 95* heat to wait for a Covid test. And the AC in my old truck isn't working. I told them I couldn't do that, and they made no attempt to find a plan B.

the drug dealer does not partake in his own product.
the politicians do not abide by their own rules.
the doctor does not take his own advice.

Yeah, you did the right thing there. Kitty and I have had several doctor appointments in the past year wanting us to do the same. I will not do it. I could stand it, but I'm not putting Kitty through that. I tell them plainly that if we cannot sit in the waiting room, they won't get our business.

Worst part is, some practices DO view it as a business

Ultimately it is.......much like a church. A lot of people don't look at it that way, but it's true of both. It's a balancing act.
