Seen this on a nostalgia site I frequent. Can someone tell me about this Header set up ?
They actually flow as good as headers but weight a ton!The Stage III Max Wedge engines had some badass exhaust too. You didn't see any of that on Chevy junk. Ford had some total badassary long tube cast iron headers though.

If your saying that of me, (hemi71x) then ya, i had both the Long Ram, and Short Ram, versions of those intake tubes, in my collection of parts.
Who knows.Did the A990 Headers flow well ? I wonder if todays Technology is any better, or am I comparing Apples and Oranges ?
I think the pontiac 421 super duty used something very similar. Cast iron for nascar, aluminum for swiss cheese cats.

I doubt if any comparison studies were ever done, with something like that.

The Superstock exhaust system that i have, i was told when i got it, that this system was removed, and Jardine Headers were installed in place of this system.
So back in the day, some 64 Superstocker gave up these parts for aftermarket Jardine Headers.
