That's right. Much like the 68 Hemi Darts and Cudas. They had a similar exhaust with a single pipe.
 
I think the pontiac 421 super duty used something very similar. Cast iron for nascar, aluminum for swiss cheese cats.

Back in those days the factory had most if not all the hypo stuff. Cams and related parts, gears, carbs and intakes were about all you cold buy aftermarket. Changed fast though
