The problem with those two carburetors is they were never meant to run except for singular. The amount of jetting they have for them isn't steep enough.. I was able to make it work but that was pretty much at the limit of the jetting available for them...
Did you have to change the Jets on your 750 at all?..

The worst fad since chrome though is to paint stuff black. Ugh. Same issues with upkeep, and there's no creativity to it. Every bro with long shorts and tall socks paints everything black on black on black...
Give me some color! Be creative! Hell, plating other than chrome can look good too. On a white truck, I'd be looking at some sort of blue or green or silver or maybe even a gray - I've never been a big fan of red. But that's just me...

I did buy black wires for the engine but they ended up being just too damn long. Again I had those old red MSD wires that were cut perfect for my small block Duster... I've got a little idea at my sleeve for them...
 
I got the sound deadening done on the front firewall and under the dash. I also got the dash secured back down so I can start filling it up...

Mine is the 625 and it was pretty much just right out of the box. Although I bought it used off ebay needing repairs. The secondary air door spring was missing and it needed a few other things. That's the cost of gettin it CHEAP. But the thermoquad air door spring fits perfect and other than that all I did was put a new kit in it and adjust everything. Runs like a charm.

The 2 625s on the duster I got a couple years ago on Christmas sale for 288 each and then sold the old edelbrocks for $150 each... So basically for $276 I got two brand new carburetors...
On the 750 I had Holly put me on a factory refurbished list and when it popped up for 239 I got it.. when I got here of course I opened it up to set the floats. They were way off as always and it actually still had solvent from when they I guess flow tested it or whatever and it had metal and trash in it and it was missing another bolt in the installation kit. I called them and they just sent me a brand new carburetor...

I really like those 625 Demons, put one on my Duster, they are nice street carbs.
 
Xmas didn't get out of me PJ's...
Yesterday had to put a dog down:(..
Today I plastered down a second layer of sound deadener in the front floorboard area before I bolted down the twin stick's.. Got the steering column in and transmission linkage hooked up..
Also got the stereo in.. (Upside down the first time of course..)
Unique to this truck the stereo in the heater control spot and a driver side kick panel fresh air door on the passenger side as well..

I got some different little plastic spacers and put the smoked plastic on the outside giving it a cleaner look...

Started by putting in the e-break pedal and the gas pedal.. Also got it hooked up to the carb as well..
Then I extended the wires to the new heater control and mounted the control as well..
I rerouted the new wires to utilize the old flasher holders...
Then permanently mounted the new fuse panel and got a start reorganizing the wiring..

Six hours in the garage working on wiring... Visually it looks like all I did was make a big wiring mess... LOL...
 
There's snow in them there hills, you need a break, what are you waiting for?
 
This is gonna look like a brand new un when you get done. Nice work. I wish I could do half as good. I just suck.

Yes plenty of snow and I do need a break LOL next week when all the kids are back in school and the mountains aren't full of skiers. Everybody's off too much traffic.. even during the week.

Working all afternoon today to get what looks like one wire LOL I strung all the engine wires and put them in this loom..
I've transitioned to this stuff from the corrugated plastic. Generally I get it in black and it looks a little softer but this white should look nice with the white truck. I'm hoping to hide a lot of the wiring and having the white looms up against the white fenders or tucked underneath them and not contrasting...
It's popping out of the firewall back underneath behind the distributor..

It's actually a stretchy kinda rubbery stuff.. it's not actual tape...
But kinda thinkin the same thing...
It's funny when you get this far into the details how every last little detail starts popping out..
Should I wrap the spark plug wires with the white?... Trust me it's crossed my mind...

I hate electrical tape with a passion. Turns gooey above 100F. I like the adhesiveless vinyl tape. Self adheres when stretched, almost like a shrink wrap. Also shrinks a bit with heat. Stays together and doesn't like to unravel, and is thinner. No idea if it comes in white though.

I agree. With big projects, the little things stand out big time. Bugs the crap out of me, because new parts stand out like a sore thumb and I hate cleaning stuff almost as much as I hate painting it.
 
Wow that is so clean! Nice work. You are doing an amazing job. If I may say? The only thing I would change is the gauges I think the original gauge cluster is one of the most attractive gauges dodge ever produced. I would use the original style gauges.

Sounds like a good way to spend weekends wiping the wires down with mineral spirits to get the grunge off. No thanks! LOL

I have them.. no tac or volt meter of course.. no 60 foot or 1/4 mile recall of course.. also the old ones don't have a inbourd programmable speedo for different size gears or tires...
Person preference... No offense taken..
I'll eventually get them for the duster as none of my original gauges ever worked...
