74 power wagon dream truck...

Of course this is all mock up.. the dash and everything need sanding and paint..

I've had to make a couple of side threads to get some wiring concerns sorted...
So as it stands I've got the steering column wires grafted in and the bulk of the new harness under dash mocked up..
I labeled the wires in sections, rolled it up zip tied and pulled it back out..

Next I'm gonna mock up the under dash AC unit, heater box, stereo, and make the new instrument panel..
Then I can pull the dashboard frame back out and sand it and paint it...

Wow that looks terrific and terrifying I'm sure not something you wanna do again soon

Mostly time consuming.. not rocket science...
I went to school for engineering and electronic assembly. I can't read it anymore but my eyesight anymore fails me and colors. I just can't fly through now. I'm replacing alot of wiring. Great looking truck!

Well this cheap wiring set would really throw you for a loop.. there's not a red wire in the set maybe Pink or when I asked my wife she said "peach"... LOL..
And don't think for a second I didn't need to pull out my readers to read what the side of the wire says LOL.. the writing on the side of the wire was more of my saving Grace...

Home craft day .. I kind of like the brush gold but there's a chance I may flip it over and drill holes for the brushed black...

I have room to add a gauge on each side if I want to and I went ahead and color coded a bunch of plug wires so I can unplug it and take it out and in easily..

Also I got a GM alternator from a friend just to mock up as the one wire alternator is half the price of buying a Mopar one wire alternator... And eight times easier to get your hands on...

I think I'm finished mocking up the dash..
Stereo, heat control, AC bracket, and heater box bracket holes drilled...
Now sand and paint...

Again I put the stereo in the old heater control area..

I got a really nice 74 to 76 grill from a member yesterday. I don't believe it's ever been put on a truck. My favorite is the 72-73 grill and I have a pretty nice one but the 74 grill is virtually perfect...
They are pretty easy to change so probably just depend on what I'm doing with it and where I'm going...

I love the 72-73 grille, third one I bought is almost perfect. My truck came with a 74-76, ex Air Force, ex Fire Truck.

Nice grille! I love the 72-73 the best. I would change mine out for that. :)
My biggest problem is I love the 72-73 grill as well it's the emergency grill from the program emergency but my biggest problem here is that 74 to 76 grill is brand new never used...
Again I may just have to switch back and forth....

AC and alternator bracket fabrication 101 LOL... Again I'm going to run an $80 one wire 110 amp Chevy alternator is there so easy to get. Instead of $185 one wire Mopar looking alternator... But actually mocks up pretty easy. The aftermarket AC isn't giving me too much trouble. I had to make one bracket but I just used a upside down alternator bracket on the front... I've got some spacers in places where I'm going to put shorter bolts and spacers that I need to put in. And I have my fingers pointing out where I'm going to put a turnbuckle for adjustment although I may be able to use the power steering as the adjustment....

Looking good
except for the dirty hose. lol
Yeah I pulled that off an old water pump that was laying in my shed.
The funny part is you start putting new clean painted stuff on and all it takes is one stupid little hose to make everything look like crap.. I already ordered another one...

Got the brackets made.. really mostly consist of two alternator sets...
Just need to take back apart one more time to paint the brackets..
Speak now or hold your peace...
