How to ruin a classic muscle car era Mopar

-
Yes you did.......Model A's and T's were not appealing in any way shape or form as they were produced and the only time they ever receive any kind of attention is when they have been extensively modified......whereas I specifically stated CLASSIC MUSCLE ERA MOPARS were essentially perfect in looks and styling right from the factory.......I will not back down nor apologize for my beliefs that some people, in their misguided ideas of taste and stying, ruin these almost perfect cars.
This would be an example of what i'm talking about

You missed the point

Which was what? That you, and you alone, get to pass judgement on everyone else’s car?

I’d say @Professor Fate understood your point perfectly, which is why he didn’t fall for your gaslighting trap and instead took the entire substance of your “argument” out at the knees. It’s not just that your opinion doesn’t matter, it’s honestly that no one’s opinion on someone else’s build really matters as long as the old girls are kept out on the road.

Oh bullshit. There were plenty of people that liked Model A’s just the way they were and thought that the early hot rodders that modified them were jerks.

And if these cars were so perfect, why did you modify the hell out of yours?

Mine absolutely resembles what a 68 barracuda has looked like from day 1 and has adult, tasteful, intelligent mods that again, intelligent adults appreciate.

The battle against the closed-minded "Only I am right" mentality has been raging for generations. Sadly, it most likely will never end.

I guess it's our legacy.

I said I was only going to post once, and I already exceeded that.
I'm done.
May individuality win in the end.

Would you walk up to the man that owns that dart, look him square in the eye and tell him he "ruined" his own car?

Why do i think you would not?
NOPE......and the reason is that I once many years ago had to pay deep 5 figure damages to an innocent person that got caught up in a bar fight I had with someone else.......I value my money and freedom more than that to risk that again.

Exactly! It’s almost like people don’t understand this has happened with every generation of cars since hot rodding began.

Uh, no, it doesn’t. At best your mods are “day 2” mods. But not even really that honestly, because that’s also a specific style that your car doesn’t meet.

And any intelligent person can look at those front runners and know that you’ve actually decreased your car’s handling and stopping abilities compared to a bone stock car, as bad as that was to start with.

Your car, so do what you like, but what you’ve got is a straight-line-only trailer Queen. Which is fine, but reasonable people can disagree about those mods.

But I am entitled to my opinion and won't apologize and know for a fact that the MAJORITY of muscle car era Mopar owners disapprove of those type mods because to be frank it just doesn't add appeal to the car.

Seems to stop ok at 120 with a very short shutdown area but yes it is designed for straightline racing and cruising.

Who cares? Your car-build it the way you want. My car-I’ll build it the way I want. Your opinion of my car means nothing to me!

Amazing.....the only group of guys in the whole world that have never seen an ugly car.......WOW

Oh, trust me, I’ve seen plenty of cars that were done such that I wouldn’t do if it were my car. However, my father taught me to respect other people.

Im sorry man.

I kinda like your car but you lost this one.

I dont LOVE your car but it aint mine so that dont matter one bit.

Im sure you dont love the dart I posted, dont bother me. Lots a folks dont like my car.

Thays why I built it.

I think you had something but you failed with your title and phrasing.

Like the Challenger I have.

I may build that car for a certain market. Not a certain person.
Certain modifications appeal to a wider precentage of people.

Is that what you were trying to get at?

Or did you just want folks to agree with your statement that, X is stupid and any one who dose X mod is an idiot?

Kinda like looking at a guy with an earring in his nose and eyelid with a body riddled with tattoo's.
It ain't cool and they look like a fool.
Only when they get older is when they realize it.

I feel it's embarrassing as a whole to the true muscle car era Mopar lovers........I will give you an example........Do you honestly think that Don Garlits or Herb McCandless would say they like the mods I described? I know the answer to that and I want the "era" preserved with respect and dignity and not laughed at by what some millennial wants to do with a muscle car era Mopar but in reality should instead do with a modern POS platform.

Tattoos are only spoust to look good when you are young. When your old as dirt, you aint at the beach picking up chicks...

And if you are, you stay fit.

Ive never seen an old army guy who dont at least have one.

No black panther on the arm?

No names any where?

I like Tattoos. I got one.

(Chicks dig it and its a reminder every day.)

Any ways, im just poking the bear.
Stay well.

Put down the shovel and step away from the hole.

Oh so now you’re an expert on what Don Garlits and Herb McCandless would like too?

Gimme a break pal.

The only one embarrassing themselves here is you.

I have one tattoo, a Devil Dog I got on my arm when I was in the corps. 18 and drunk in Oceanside.

I litterly have everything done to this car that folks here listed as not liking.

Stickers, check.
Stink bug look, check.
Big *** wing, check
One million gauges, check.
Ford rear end, check.

When I built that car it was not built for sale. That was "my" car. I built it just for me. The entire car was fitted to me.
Everything about it was exactly what I wanted.

The strange thing is this. That will probably be the LAST time I build a car "just for me".

I always worried about not being able to sell it because it was so much "my car".

Lucky my dad decided he wanted it and is now dealing with all the problems of biuying a car that is such a one trick pony.

So did I ruin that dart?

Well yeah kinda but I set out to ruin it from day one. And It's only ruined if you plan to be in the car for more than 15 min. Other than that its perfect. (To me)

:)
Now this is Badass.

It's common sense....get a life

Half a dozen posts ago you didn’t even know that there are people out there that like stock Model A’s, so you’ll have to pardon me if I don’t count you as an expert on hot rodding history.

Don Garlits and Herb McCandless may have spent all their time drag racing, but as real car aficionado’s I’m sure they appreciated other forms of motor sports too. Or maybe we should ask Dan Gurney his opinion instead?

Drag racing may have been the more popular classic look for these cars, but there’s lots of other motorsports out there now. And they require very different mods. Modifications that run afoul of your delicate sensibilities, if your first post is to be believed.

I coppied and pasted this right out of post #45.

post number 45 is a post by the OP

Because I don't like it

:rofl::BangHead:

(Muttering quietly to my self, not N&P Cope, leave it, LEAVE IT!)
