So I bought a used Lunati solid cam and lifters for my 340. Saw a few pics before purchase but not anything up close. I am posting these pics for opinions if you have cam experience as a professional. Use it or not. 106LSA, 244-249 @.050, 532/543 lift. I will use new lifters if I use it. If a no please explain why. I also posted on Facebook at Mopar Engines. Just wanting a few more opinions.
Thanks FABO

Like I told you on Facebook, polish that one journal with scotch brite and run it. My opinion doesn't change here. It's a good cam. Used, but good.

Rusty I appreciate your opinion, just wanted to get a few more. Lunati said buy a new cam. Im waiting to see why they said that. Doesn't surprise me. Thanks again

If its a new engine. No. If its a used engine . Yes I looks like it could be polished up. I always say the same thing to my son. His answer always is. For the cost of a cam is it worth taking a chance that it is bent or cracked. The lifters are the expensive parts. Why buy them twice. Looks to me that it has been in an engine for a while from the pictures.

I would run it as is, don't touch it. There is some slight wear around/near max lobe lift, but not too bad.

Look at the base circle. It's still has the parkerizing on it. That's a really low run time cam. It's run barely enough to have that wear pattern, IMO. Yeah they're cheap compared to another engine, but put new lifters on it, break it in like a new cam and go.

If it was mine I would drive over to Ken at Oregon cam grinding in Washington and have him inspect the cam. I would also pay him $3 each to have the lifters resurfaced especially if they're solid..

I have a mp cam that looks alot worse than that im gonna use it in my junkyard 360 .

Man, I've got some Solid and Hyd Cores, that came outta running Hi-Po mills. Maybe I'm shot out, but back in the day, the Lifters were less cost?

In a junk yard 360. Perfect place to try it out.
Not everybody has multi million dollar equipment at their disposal or the money to arbitrarily replace possibly good parts. Consider yourself very fortunate.

Its going to be a fun a$$ engine if I ever decide what I'm gonna put it in. I got a solid long block for 150 bucks with newish .030 h405cp pistons a set of j heads unknown cam and adjustable rockers. The block and heads have been oringed im gonna put that .528 mp cam with a eddy air gap port the j heads should be a fun combination and ill have under 600 in it minus the carb.

Rusty if only you knew my budget your head would spin. I barter sell and trade for every thing I have.My pension and SS checks amount to around. $2300 a month combined. If I want something I have to sell something I worked hard to get when I was younger.

I have 2 Demons and one harley some antique tractors and toys. And worn out hands and shoes. I bought a new DC cam and lifters on this site for $99. I am Not the fortunate son. Neither is anyone in my family. We work for what we have and used what we worked for wisely.

My answer to him of not using that cam was thinking of wasting new parts such as lifters and bearings if the Cam is bad. You cannot tell the condition of the cam with pictures on the web and anyone that encourage its use with a "looks good to me" answer is an idiot.

By the way anyone that has been here knows I live in a mobile home in the country. so don't give an answer and insinuate you know me. I sold many mopars I collected in my younger years driving and old 53 chevy tow truck to get what I have. I built my garage by myself with no help using reclaimed wood and it was hard work. Where I live was a cornfield when I bought it. I lost everything and started over when my Dad was killed in the early 80's.

So don't quote me in your fucken posts anymore with your bullshit. You don't know me!
