Lots of PSA parts in here so I’m sure I’ll be burned at the cross.

Thanks for the red X. I was just posting MY experience with them. Your red X doesn't change the fact that their customer service is terrible and it doesn't correct the out of spec machining on their lower.

I don't have a problem with the things they sell that they rebrand. The lower is my issue. I like their upper I bought. I like their drop in trigger. Also, it isn't their LPK that is causing the bolt to not hold open. With that being said, I'll probably not buy from them again solely based on customer service.

To me, a bolt not being able to be held open is a safety issue. I see your lowers aren't PSA. That's good.

What I would recommend to friends is if you are just needing items such as a LPK or triggers and wanting to just do an internet sale Palmetto wouldn't be any different than going anywhere else and their prices are great. However, if you are looking for a lower OR foresee wanting to actually call them on the telephone go elsewhere.

Could you use a factory rifle that came with a bill barrel? I have a 700 SPS varmit that came with a bull barrel. That rifle will group almost as good as a bench rest rifle. If I had a decent optic and a super light trigger I could probably hang with them.
The match organizers are way ahead of us! It is called base sporter and the weight limit pretty much forces you to a pencil barrel. I don’t do bench rest because it is yet another black hole for money! Hah! So I just run what I got and give the old men bench rest shooters fits!

My Axis .243 has the "pencil" barrel. Excellent way to describe a sporter deer barrel. Before it heats up it is a very accurate budget rifle. After that, not so much!

@doogievlg What scope are you running on the 700?

Yep that’s for sure, my CBS (cold bore shot) was dead on X and first three shots were sub one, after that it was pin the tail on the donkey! That stage was five targets, four rounds per target, in 25 minutes. Basically a round a minute. Heat is a mother bear!

Ah, I missed the weight stuff.

For lpks, look for schmid trigger/hammers. That's where probably 80% of companies get their parts.
As far as I know, very few will check them before sale. My company does, but we rarely find issues, but there's always 1 every few thousand kits..

Don’t get to upset that I disagreed. Not a big deal. Folks do it every day.

I have no clue at this point in time honestly. I think it still has the Leopold scope on it but I also have a cheaper Nikon. Right now that gun is a ND waiting to happen. It’s developed the infamous Remington trigger issue. Closing the bolt will make that gun go off. Right now I’m spending most of my time shooting the AR’s and pistols and I don’t feel like getting back into longer range stuff. When it does I’ll buy a Timney for it.

Kinda a funny story but after I got that gun another guy down at one of the clubs got the same one. He’s a big bench rest dude and they had some goofy classes at the time. He ended up putting a Jewell trigger in it, and a sightron scope on it. Then cut a cutting board down and glued it to the stock so it was flat on the bottom. Went on two win a few shoots with it. Stock barrel.

What’s up with the receiver on the second from the bottom. Looks like there is something between the upper receiver and hand guard.
Haha, thats a velcro to hold flash light cord & push button on/off switch

To your point BP I was pondering that as well, thinking to myself I should just start a firearms QA thread. Seems to be a wealth of knowledge in the firearms arena from our members. This thread has more twists and turns than a river! And now you post that video! Which I love by the way. Everyone I know who has went out on the proverbial limb and purchased a Christianson raves about them. I do not own one, yet……

Thats a great idea. I for one, would be reading. I’m not all that knowledgeable on the subject but I like it as a hobby.

Since Sublime threw it out there, I shoot two or three days a week typically. Won’t get into background here but if interested can explain via email or PM.
If you in central Az and want to shoot or train I am always open. Usually shoot at Rio in Mesa or a spot in Florence.

Please do. You would have a lot of support. I'm sure there are lots of guys like myself who want to learn all they can. A shooters forum would be awesome.

Well like Mike, I also shoot two or three times a week, again like Mike my “gun room” is trashed presently but this little slice Photo shows you how I can. Lord knows you can’t buy ammo. If somebody starts a “shooters forum” tab on here I would darn sure participate. I am already an admin on another private gun bunny site so I want no part of that! Hah! You want a thankless gig be an admin for a website that has bunch of hard headed opinionated folks! Hah! But I would certainly be willing to share most anything I know for QnA type stuff. Being a blue line family there are topics I simply will not comment on but for most part I can participate.

Mine is a LEO K9 drop out from Europe, named Hemi. She is typically the smartest creature in the room regardless of how many of us are in the room! I had a chance here a bit ago to snag a Mal as some buddies noticed the grey on her muzzle and so knew we were winding down, but I am not man enough for that! They are GSDs on crack! But Hemi is right at ten and being over 100 pounds she does not have much run left in her. We are inseparable as many FABO folks have seen that visit us. Although there is a zero tolerance of hearty hand shakes or hugs and back slapping! Hah! I say this about virtually every dog, but she is the best I have ever had. The attached pix are her at the range doing a bit of work, under my Cuda and my favorite, is another FABO guy giving her a treat out in the shop. My wife travels a lot so there is always the test of wills and alpha female domination when the wife comes home. Dumb dog knows within a day, that wife is traveling so she immediately takes that side of the bed! I keep threatening to trade her (Hemi) in for a gold fish next rotation! RIP to your Shepard’s, they are the best.
