Stop in for a cup of coffee

Up an at em early this morning. Going to a big birthday party at 11:00 a.m. at the party restaurant. I got to get in my heavy workout this morning. Because I'm sure I wont feel like doing it tomorrow. KKKKKK
Good news is I head home next month third week. Maybe get a break from partying 4 days a week. Lord knows my liver will need the help.

I have adopted a new strategy before meeting friends for a drinking frenzy. This morning I ate a bowl of pho and two pieces of fried chicken. Got to get your belly full before you meet these guys. Been here for an hour and a half already on beer number 5. Freaking guys are crazy here. Not to worry though I see some of them getting rather drunk already.

They just closed our Mc D's. Hopefully they are going to rebuild it. It was very old!!!

We have at least 4 of them around here... 3 of them 24 hour...

Well, one of them is 23 hour because when the computer updates between 3 - 4 AM the workers won't take any orders and just sit on their cell phones...

Well, I got all the old.brake lines and the old master cylinder off the car last night. Wasn't too much trouble.

Master cylinder interior looked like the bottom of a truck stop.coffee pot

Yes they do good ole DOT 3 fluid. I went silicone on the dart since all of it was new, not easy to switch to it have to change all the rubber out and clean the inside of the lines out of the rubber will swell.

Morning to you all. We'll have plenty of sun next week.
The weather guesses have us mid 90's for four days in a row.
Need to get the AC ready.

Hmm..

So. I'm replacing everything from the rear wheel cylinders to the master...should I just go synthetic?

Would have to do the front lines and wheel cylenders, clean out the metal lines, I use denatured alchahol and blow them out then you can. Seriously if you mix any of them it is not good. I have seen what happens the rubber turns into swelling in a few weeks.

It'll be all new lines everywhere with the disc conversion up front

Then yes it is all new. I would go with a silicone fluid.
Since DOT 4 and 5.1 are both glycol-based brake fluids they are compatible with each other, which means they can be readily mixed without harming your brake system. It is important never to mistake DOT 5.1 (glycol-based) with DOT 5 which is silicone-based and should never be mixed with any other DOT fluid.

Thanks for the tip. I think that's where I'll go.

Definitely stops the water from being drawn into the system.

Nice.

Yeah... did more degeeasing and cleaning of the underbody. Think I'm going to start on getting the Encapsulator sprayed in from the transmission support back. Once that's done I can start installing the new brake lines.

Found a replacement instrument panel so when that arrives I'll get the speedo and maybe shifter cables replaced. I need to figure out a better routing or shielding of those. The existing ones had the outer shielding melted by the exhaust pipes. It's really tight with the dual pipes on that left side

So Dot 3 is bad these days? I have all new hoses and aluminum master, why not use dot 3 Hoppy??

Nothing wrong with it in a OEM used system. I just draws water in. Take a ounce in a cup leave it out over night you will have a ounce and a half of fluid in it. You should never mix glycol based and silicone based. Friend had all his rubber basically double in size when he mixed them. Expensive mistake for him early Hudson. Bet Craig @mobileparts can chime in on this. Or Frank probably knows also.
