The end is near...

We had a car show/cruise here about 5 years ago. I had a 74 Swinger at the time with my 426 gen 3. Must have put at least 30 miles on. It was a bunch of fun. My engine is down on power(compared to your almighty LA), but, i would run him on the street. It sucks I sold that Dart. All steel, all glass. I have a 73 Cuda that is the next car, but, has a glass front end and doors. I have steel doors to put on. Not a front clip. AND, I put a Liberty geared 833 behind it in anticipation for the new car. I would love nothing more than to have four weeks to put this together and not only burn your *** with a gen 3, but, a four speed to boot. I'm in NW Iowa. Just a five hour trek for me. ****, turbofreak that is on here has a gen 3 that would eat your *** for lunch. BUT, as his name suggests, it's not N/A. So, there's that.
Guys guys guys, lol, I just looked up turbofreek and I know Jaramie personally as he has even been to my shop before to buy a part for his car and he hasn't even run close to what my car has run yet, lol, albeit, he is still working some bugs out but the fact remains that the old technology LA engine is way faster than that twin turbo gen 3 so let that sink in. By the way this is not to start a fight with Jaramie as like I said I see him often and know of his ET's and his things he is still working on and we are friends.

Thanks for the morning laugh a thon......awesome way to start my Friday off.......guess you will have to keep searching for that elusive Gen 3 setup that will hold a candle to old school badassery...LOL:rofl::rofl::rofl:

I am also in the camp of not driving on the street very far from where I keep the car.
I base my decision on doing that, frankly, because I am experienced and have above average intelligence. Lol
i have front runners and DOT drag radials on my car. I don’t have a spare for either in the trunk mounted up.
Also don’t have a spare MSD box, etc, etc with me.
Drive(99%) of the time only as far as I am willing to pay for a tow truck to get me back home if something unfortunate should happen.
And we have tons of deer around, constantly, another factor.
Love to drive it on the street, and do often, but I am very thoughtful about doing so.
I have a whole lot full of cars I can drive anytime I want, rain, snow, trips, hot out, cold out….
My Dart is for ideal conditions type driving.

My town isn't big enough to warm the motor up without doing loops. To leave town they are all 2 lane 60 mph highways. I am 30 miles (oh the horror!) from the "big" town. Oh, and we have deer, too.

I have a truck and the wife's car as well, and the Duster gets park in the winter. But during the summer if I limited myself to how far I could get it towed, it would be useless.

The Gen3 Hemi is the LS of the mopar world, and sad to say, the LS is a superior motor.

Both of them are boring as ****. I’d rather see a slant six with a 1bbl. But, that is what is great about opinions and personal choice, it’s all up to you.

The future of the gas fueled car hobby is most definitely going to be centered around modernizing the suspension and drivetrains of these old cars. They will have Mustang II suspensions, with Gen 3 hemis, and 9 speed automatics.

I’ll still be here(I’m 34)with my 383 and the fattest, stickiest 15” tires I can find. Burning whatever fuel I can feed it. Teaching my boys the way, my 2 year old says “Big Block” every time I head to the garage.

Yeah I agree.....the modernizer crowd has yet to prove that the engine platform that my car originally came in can be beaten by the POS Gen 3 Hemi and I love it and relish the fact and will continue to rub it in their faces as they sure are easy to make look silly....LOL

They also choose to ignore that the 5.7 gen 3 in a modern challenger or charger naturally aspirated gets its *** spanked by almost all of the 340 Mopar's, lol.

That must be some of that new math stuff. Last time I checked 13.7@102 was faster than 14.23@99.

And that is only the 2nd tier motor in the Challenger, kind of like the 318 in a Duster. The Scat Pack is the 3rd tier like a 340 and it runs high 12's off the showroom floor.

Sorry bud you don't get to run with the bigger cubic inch engines that those turds produced and this news flash may be heart breaking for you but i'm zero losses against ANY gen3 of ANY combo......they just plain suck ***......:rofl::rofl:

They weren’t pigs, they were made 50+ years ago.
People seem to lose sight of that.
Technology has come a long way.
I haven't, I've had big blocks my whole life.
Have 360 in my 73W 200, it isn't a powerhouse. 383 would be better. imo
To be honest I never had or drove a 340 powered Mopar.
I did have a few early slant six Darts as parts runners, excellent fuel mileage , but boring. lol
My brother did the 440 swap to a 64 Dart in the early 80's.
You do know I'm just :poke:I have very limited experience with the small block.
I have to admit, I'm impressed with some of the #'s guys are running with the small block platform.

And again ignoring that you don't have to step up to the 6.4 (still smaller than a 408) to show a flaw in your logic.

Changing the rules again. Don't like the facts so let's talk about how your street/strip car (that has never seen the 1/4 mile) has never lost to G3. Guess what, mine hasn't either, and I have run mine. Doesn't prove anything.

And frankly, the last thing I am interested in is trying to build a car to beat your Golden Calf. Not because I don't think it is possible (pretty sure you wouldn't show up even if someone did), but because it would result in a car that is all but useless to me.

Well, that and the fact that there ain't no way this poor boy is going to compete with your level of money. That's what you want to hear right?

Can you also tell me how handsome I am also

It has run the 1/4 mile before and ran 10.48 @ 126 but with a different engine

Have you ever heard of Herb Mcandless “Mr. 4 Speed”. Do you know what he drives now. When I last spoke with him he had over 100,000 miles on it.

Not relevant only if you get to make the rules. Which you don't.
Who am I talking to here???? How is a car that Herb McCandless drives relevant to anything I been talking about or my race, that nobody will step up for yet by the way......kinda shocked with all the Gen 3 builds and lovers of it on here you would think someone has a badass car.....I mean if all I wanted was basic transportation I would be 100% happy with a slant 6 to be honest.
