Hope next week to fire Dart after sitting. At this time siphon fuel out of tank, fresh gas and some Heet additive, maybe MMO since on the shelf.

WTH do you do with old gas ? Don't remember if stabilizer added in past but likely.

Store it long term in good gas cane for use for burn piles around the property.

You can test some of the old fuel in something else.
AS far as old fuel I dilute it with new fuel and use it up
I had some 8 year old gas and was, unsure if it had Sta_Bil. Even still past what Sta_Bil does but was good to go in lawn mower.
I had some 110 with lead race gas (VP) I was also worried about but was, good to go

Leaded gas will last literally for years.

It was 2005 gas, used last summer.
Was sitting behind stuff hidding. Was good to go in lawn mower and had the cool race gas smell. LOL.
The car that had newer 110W lead strared up no problem. We store the classics with 110 lead VP

My local landfill takes it. Some one who uses waste oil heaters might take it.

My dart sat for 4 plus years in the garage in California. No special treatment was done. It started right up.
I added 3/4 tank of new gas, ran it till empty, another full tank, ran till empty.

That was in 2017
This was the inside of my tank in 2021

(Yes that was a piece of duct tape I was retrieving)

Your results may very.

Use it to soak crud-caked parts in. When that gets too dirty, start bonfires with it like RRR said.

HOW did you get in there??

I used it to tape a endoscope cam to a stick. Turns out the adhesive on duct tape is highly dissolvable in gasoline, and the plastic backing is impervious. It had been in the tank for 2 years. Luckily it has more mass than gas so it just hung out at the bottom of the tank.

The mesh impregnated with adhesive luckily stayed tangled to the stick and came out.

Add a few gallons at a time to a tank with several gallons of good gas. It'll burn. I used to do this on my carbureted, no cat con step van engine. I did it often, as I used to run a mobile small engine biz, and the number one repair was cleaning out old gas, which I then had to get rid of.
I can't speak to something that has smog stuff and/or a computer.

For all the potential problems I would not use old gas in small engines, or any other engine that I want to run good or care about. Use it for fires or cleaning.

Dont burn old gas. A guy I know drained the gas out of his 55 chevy and used it in his lawnmower. Next thing you know he had the mower on the trailer at my house because it wouldnt run. Valves gummed up and hung open. Bent pushrods but luckily the valves were fine.
I give my old gas/oil to a neighbor to fuel his bon fires.

Burning brush here is getting more difficult as permit and burn days due to weather and air quality. Not to difficult to be out of compliance and easy to spot a dozen plus miles away.

I had to do the research some years ago when I was dealing with HAZMAT in NoCal. We had a 250 gallon fuel tank in the yard that had to be removed/destroyed and it probably had about 30 gallons left in it. I found the recommended formula was 1 gallon of old gasoline to 10 gallons of new. Transfered it to a 55 gallon drum and burned it up in the shop truck without issue.
