Guns, Dogs and Blades QnA

-
This makes me howl simply because it is as technically accurate as a very similar chart that is posted in hundreds of ranges across the Country. I think I should print this out and use it this weekend? Gonna be a busy, combo class this weekend finish on Sunday late then drive four hours sleep fast and be at another range to train some Church Safety Team on Monday starting at 0700 then at end of the day hustle across the State and rinse and repeat with a School District Safety Team. Then drive home Tuesday nite late. Did I mention it is supposed to rain every day? @pittsburghracer this is like loading up the trailer for a 4 day race weekend. Then driving home like hammered dog slobber. Totally spent, nothing left in the tank, but knowing full well you will do it again!

One more three day race this weekend hopefully. Then I’m done for the year.

We will get em next year!
Hope your Boy gets an opportunity to get where he wants to be this off-season. I think quite truthfully I will have to race vicariously thru all you guys Next year. I simply do not have the ability (time) to do it next year. My head accountant explained to me in no uncertain terms that we needed more “write on” next year vs “write off”! Hah! Every weekend racing is a weekend I am not focusing on our business. Arghh! Sadly the gun bunny stuff is not a side hustle for me, it is sole source of income. Toss in being a sponsored shooter and all the matches that entails, and there is just not enough of me to go around. I told her if I had married a rich woman I could do both! But at 13 grand kids reckon I will just have to keep her now! I would not have a pot to pee in without her, she is the brains of this here operation!

You do know racing is and can be a great advertising tool for your business. It’s been proven to be legit and very worthwhile. Just saying

Just waiting on a 45 degree mount for the optic and then I'll be all set

Here's one for you...

My "regular" range is about a 40 minute drive, and outdoors
Not a big deal, it's been beautiful weather

There is one range closer but you have to be a member to shoot there and an NRA membership is a prerequisite for the range membership

Today, my wife brought me a birthday present from her sister and it was a membership for the range

So I said "I thought you had to be an NRA member to shoot there?"

And she said "they got you that too"

Thought that was pretty cool

Sounds like she is a keeper for sure! Congrats, now get out there and try it out!

NRA had a deal bunch of years back for military to get life memberships at a steep discount. Jumped on that... Don't have to track expirations any longer

I missed once. I hit the rocks directly in front of my face. That was a valuable lesson on hunting with a scope.

And the seasonal black eyes from all the guys that turn and twist in deer stand and shoot. Instant moused eye From scope bite!
Never hunted from a deer stand but now, getting “scoped” makes a little more sense to me.

There is a plethora of guys who forget mechanical off set on AR platform rifles and shoot the barricade, side view mirror on trucks, tire carriers on Jeep’s, the list goes on and on. They typically only do it once tho!

My father bagged an antenna and a mirror while shooting gophers with a 22. He also “cleared” his 30-06 through the roof of our hunting cabin. I learned a few things NOT to do from him. Lol

I’ve fixed a few hoods that had rows of dents from the bullets shockwave. I guess that’s what it’s called. I would assume that shooting across and that close to a horizontal surface has some affect on trajectory.

I have seen a lot of creased hoods! Here is a pic of my brand new Carhart coat I thought I would use as support shooting my 45-70 Creedmore. Notice large burn mark! What a moron!

I tried to join the armed forces once, long story short...they didnt want me

Well one thing you can say for sure about my Mal pup, she goes everywhere I go rain or shine. She trots beside tractor in heat of summer or pouring rain (today) I tried to get her to go to the shop but she was having none of it. I could not ask for a more loyal buddy.

Made it to the range with the Keltec

10 rounds at 15 yards

5 rounds at 25 yards

Out of the box, and shooting from a standing position

(It has an adjustable stock and when I tried to adjust it to what seemed more comfy my grouping went all over the place...seemed od to me)

Keltec's what I recently got...KS7! Glad you like yours! Mine seems super-comfortable, I put an extra pad on it, no kick (2 3/4 #4 shells). I really like it, just seems like Quality Control had the day off...shot once, no eject. Took it apart, clean and lube, dry racking started hesitating. I know the issues, but it's brand new, I'm not voiding the warranty...the gun shop's sending it back to them.
