According to Jim Layson at Layson's Restoration, this is the Achilles Heel of the 1966 Barracuda, particularly for those of us who are converting a 2 BBL to a 4 BBL. It also doesn't help that the idiot who was restoring my vehicle lost the linkage parts.

I don't expect anyone to have the linkage arm available for sale, but does ANYONE have a schematic of one or the ability to take pictures and measurements of that linkage arm? Specifically, I am looking for the kickdown linkage for a 1966 4 BBL with Torqueflight automatic transmission.

I would be hugely grateful!!

I can get you pictures and some measurements. I think the only thing different between a two barrel and a four barrel is the piece from the carb to the bellcrank. I believe the mount for the throttle cable is also a different piece. My daughter now drives my hipo Dart. I will go by and get some pics

That would be fantastic!!! Could you takes some measurements too please?
With pics and measurements we probably can make one in the machine shop.
You are a LIFESAVER!!

Looks like this I have a few parts for the setup

My daughter is sick today so I probably won’t get the measurements today. Attached is a drawing showing what you need. I made a mistake in my earlier post. All parts are same with 2bbl or 4bbl EXCEPT the following.
Bell crank to carb. 2bbl part # 2532-595

4bbl part# 2536-296

Throttle cable bracket. 2bbl. #2465-604

4 bbl# 2465-986
Throttle cable is the same

The bell crank bolted to the engine is apparently different also.
2bbl. # 2532-596

4 bbl. #2536-297.

Hope this helps.

Thanks a million!

66 was a transitional year for the linkage on the A body LA.

2 BBL vs 4 BBL you can see the difference in throw and pivot. The 2 BBL are of course more common.

Good photos of what you have would help immensely.

Search is your friend! keep in mind the dates of these threads.

Sellers may or may not have the parts still available but the information is always good thanks to the GREAT members on the forum.

Sorry all for the delay. I was traveling for business and then the shop owner was away at a car show (lucky guy!). Here are some pics of what I have. It looks like we have the long shaft that goes to the transmission - that is a victory. Unless we need a different shaft because I converted it to a 4-bbl. I don't know the ins-and-outs of these details. Hopefully, one of you can guide me. I also have pics of the carburetor/accelerator linkage on another thread for those who are interested.

Looks like you have the 2bbl bell crank and missing the forward rod that snaps onto the outside ball of the carb stud. I can't see enough detail on the accelerator cable and it's mount to see if it's correct or not. From the bell crank down to the transmission uses the same parts whether 2bbl or 4bbl.

Here are pics of the accelerator linkage that I have.
Thanks Cudamark.

The one on the left is a 2bbl bell crank. The one on the right is a '65 4bbl one. '66 4bbl is different....more offset to the driver's side with the upper/forward section.
