I looked for this thread earlier. I finally got to drive my 318 last fall. Runs great!

That’s what I’m building for my 73 Swinger,,,,it will be a Magnum engine,,but dressed to look like a LA engine .
Here is a pic of my pistons I’m using and my rods .

It’s an absolute travesty the UEM makes a piston that nice and then uses steam ship grade rings on them.

That ring pack was obsolete 30 years ago.

BYW I have moved the 1/16-1/16-3/16 ring pack tractor grade.

It’s quickly becoming obsolete.

Guess I missed annual 2-25 day, but 4-13 and 4-26 is coming up :)
Yeah, there will never be a March 40th, a March 60th, an April 40th either....
Still, it is probably a safe bet that most Mopar dudes that have owned more than 3 Mopars in their lives have had a 318 powered car at some point. They were the overwhelming majority of V8s produced and they were available in every model except Imperials, right? The 318 was the slant six of V8s, with reliability and durability to brag about. With a .373 lift cam, they sure didn't stress the valvetrain much!

I’m building a tunnel ram 318 right now.

If I get a full year out of my junky heads I’m going to drop the W2’s on it with a tunnel ram and if the planets align it will get a solid roller while I’m at it.

100% TRUTH..... about the only thing decent is the icons with the tractor rings. Mahle makes some nice pistons for 340s/360s with the tiny metric rings, but nothing for a 318

Sounds like a runner, post some details & pics if you get a chance.
I had no idea Ansen was still around
Yep, they will re-pop the old Mopar performance air cleaners and valve covers for less than the NOS ones you see on ebay too.
I got them to do the air cleaner as I don't like the new style - cost around $200usd if I remember correctly.

Be aware that Ansen's website got hacked, and they currently only have a small portion of their offerings online- if you don't see what you are looking for (Magnum or Cal Custom repro valve covers for example) call or email them directly until they're fully back up and running.
