Stop in for a cup of coffee

One of my favorite breakfasts in Vietnam. Bo Ne. Grilled beef with onions and I always add some more hot red peppers. Getting used to them now. Then, I have taken to forming the inside of a half a loaf of bread and stuffing it with the goodness. The other half of the bread sops up the left over gravy and juices. I always tell them I want a double portion of the meat. They know me now. Every time I come there they are ready for me. Lol. 60,000 dong = $2.30 USD......

He hasn't been around for a few days.

Didn’t he mention he had to go in for a procedure at some point

I had a COPD flare up a week before my lung biopsy and was in the hospital for 4 days... I wanted to get that looked at to make sure it wasn't pneumonia before the surgery the next week...

Then had to fool them into letting me out for the weekend so I could do a sleep study that had been canceled twice already since last August...

Then back in the hospital for the surgery for them to kick me out two days later, even though I told them I wasn't good enough to go home... Then back in by ambulance the next day (I gave them an earful in the ER when I returned - they even called security on me)... Then in for three more days and finding out the night before I got out about Doug...

So in and out of the hospital for about 15 days with a 4 day "break" in the middle... (but I'm feeling much better now - Buddy Night Court)...

No, I'm doing ok now because of the steriods and antibiotics, we'll have to see how I feel when I get off the steriods... My side is still a little tender where they cut into me for the surgery, but nothing to complain about... The follow up visit with the surgeon said I was healing well...

There is some inflamation or enlarged areas in my lungs, but they don't know what it is exactly or what's causing it... Now the lung doctor has is going to review the results with a team of lung doctors to try to figure out what's going on... The last meeting was delayed due to spring break and some of them off, they meet about 2 weeks... They are eliminating what it's not and then trying to figure out what it is...

Youngest son called with great news, he got his match he put in for as a diagnostic radiologist. He put in for 6 different locations/programs, basically it's 5 more years, we wait until Friday to see if he goes to Indiana, Illinois or ?

Congrats...

Where did he go??? Let me know if he's near southwest suburbs of Chicago... There's a hospital less than 2 miles from me that I go to... Northwestern Medicine....

Good morning everyone. I hope all is well.
Thank you everyone for the birthday wishes.

Well, tell us what you did for your Birthday ........
Well, i got up at 2:30am. Worked a 12hr shift. Ran a few errands, talked to family who called, threw some parts in the garage that showed up, showered, made myself some supper and went to bed about 8. Or, just another Tuesday overall.

Just poured my second gets better by the cup. You still working the job you picked up a few months ago? I've lost track need to come through more often...haha!!
No, last summer they changed everyone to 1099 employees and taxes were almost 50%................................not worth it.

Back to just enjoying life and retirement.

We're getting ready to hit the road this morning. Big big baseball card show in St Charles, MO this weekend Friday-Sunday. First though tomorrow we'll drive two hours north to Effingham, IL to one of the biggest sports card shops in the US 15 million cards. Last Saturday I took Cheryl to her first card show. She was amazed at the number of people there, the variety of people, and the money that must have been walking through the show. She got to witness me do some trading started with a couple graded card worth 450 and turn it into a $2500 57 Mickey Mantle card after a couple trade ups and a little extra cash. It's fun and better than shopping for car parts...haha!!

Warmer to I bet. Sounds like fun. I am starting to get serious now on American Silver Eagle coins, always picked them up if the price was right. Went to the bank box to grab what I had for a new album, Dam one is worth 2K Who knew think I got it at a gun show for $25 years ago. Tons of slight variations to learn. Sure cards are more so Craig. Trying to stay graded now in what they call a slab case. Average around 50 now for common ones.

I have a good friend who has been into cards all his life. He grew up in Tampa, now my neighbor and whiskey drinking buddy. His wife and mine are best friends and we play a lot of golf with them. Anyway, he and his dad had a card shop in Tampa for 30 years. He left and his dad ran it. He tutored me in baseball cards which helped with the learning curve. I amaze him all the time with the cards I find, but I have the time to do it.
