Mickey Thompson Sportsman Fronts

I am running the 8 ply. I have a Hemi in it and run them due to the weight and I can run higher pressure in them.

Looks like from your pic you may be running a Hemi as well................

Jeez I've got Hoosiers and didn't realize there could be a ply option! I've got a heavy drivetrain and do keep my fronts at 35 psi. 26 by 4.5 by 15 on 3.5 Weld Prostars. I'll have to check. My 2 inch primary fenderwells limit front tire diameter. Recently welded in bump stops to avoid hot tube contact. Thanks for pointing this out. Doesn't say anything on the tire that I could find. I'll check the receipt. Again, thanks

Quick call to Hoosier East says my 18105 tire is 2 ply! And he says ALL there front runners are 2 ply. Havent had a problem. BTW I do not run inner tubes on the front.

The load rating for the tire should be right on the sidewall so you can see what they are rated for. IIRC, the M/T Sportsman 8-plys I have hold 60 psi pressure.

Although I see those are the sportsman tires. LTs! It certainly doesn't hurt to have more plies when the car bounces all the weight on the fronts. I can't say I've ever seen any wheel standers blow there tires on landing. Thank God.

I ran Goodyear front runners on one car, cause I needed a short, light tire for a really light mostly-drag car. I would be nervous running front runners on most every normal weight street/strip car. I am willing to run a ten or twenty pound heavier front tire for piece of mind.

Wow! The load rating on a couple of those mickeys is remarkably low. 3500 lb car with typical weight bias overloads two of those pairs of tires!
My thoughts exactly and hence why I chose the 8-ply Mickeys. And especially given my car is also street driven. Worrying about load rating on front tires at about 120 mph is NOT something I want to think about at the big end of the track either!
