1966 Formula S 4 gear Barracuda NOT MINE

1966 Plymouth Barracuda Formula S | eBayTHIS IS NOT MINE This is a reserve auction with a starting bid at 10K. It only has 4 days left in the bidding and has not gotten the minimum bid.
Looks like a nice ride. That will be a fun one to follow. What are you thinking it will bring? As nice as it is close to $20 may be? I may have to reduce the price on my Dart to get some action going.

These are tough ones Mike. The guys that really want them and know the market generally lay low until the end. I would not be surprised if it doesn't see the minimum bid until late the last day. I would bet it does not do 20K. That's why I love them. They are great little cars and can be bought for reasonable prices. If the reserve isn't higher than Dick's hat band this would make a great A body for someone who wants one to jump in and drive. Let's keep an eye on it and see what it does. It's a damn sickness for me. I'm downsizing and still have to look. Moparitis...I've had it since Doc Quonzo took us for a ride in the 68 4 gear Hemi Super Bee in 1978.

Kind of the same MO. I started with a 65 Dart with a HP273 and I got to drive Dick Shoeman's 68 Hemi Road Runner. Mat the gas and side step the clutch. No fear.

Is that car's stance right or is it sagging in the rear a little?

It's truly hard to say. The extra "meat" that covers the rear tire from the rear quarter panel compared to the higher opening on the front fender has always given these cars an odd side profile.

Ok, it's kinda minor I guess, because the function is gonna be the same either way, but the oil breather cap should be on the driver's side, with the pcv valve on the passenger side.

Incorrect fuel filter and fuel lines as well......
Positive battery terminal, upper radiator hose, all the inside plastic chrome, front seat bolsters, jack base loose, trunk latch cover missing, brake adjusting plugs missing, sway bar bushings, crusty front suspension pieces, etc.

It's a really nice car overall, but lots of nitpicks.

the recent market prices would reflect incredibly wishful thinking on the owner's part and or the listing agent. Some of us thought if you get to 18 to 22K take the money and run. If it was a 68 Charger...different story.
