fuel filter arrow direction?

I know the arrow points the flow direction, but I couldn't see which line went....Oh nevermind...I figured it out. And apparently it wasn't the 'original' fuel filter since the arrow was pointing AWAY from the carb. At least I think I got it right. Hard line coming OUT of the fuel pump, through fuel filter, into another hard line that LOOKS like it's going to carb.

On the filter I removed, arrow was pointing 'down', going into the fuel pump.

I have seen people do that on multiple occasions. Some people don't even realize there is an arrow. No offense...I thought you might just be jerking our chains...LOL
