Dart door window channel seal frustration

Ok I had to use a rubber mallet to run the glass up the channel in the vent frame. I just silicone grease and spray. The new sliders seem about the same as the originals so it must be thicker seals. I don't know if the glass will ever roll up and down with the crank or whether I will destroy the regulator breaking it in. Is this normal these days? Attached are pics of original vs repro (Classic Industries)

ps I've about had it with repro seals. The upper side window weatherstripping fits like crap and I just tossed some vent window gaskets and used the originals. The door seal clips (little white ones) aren't like the originals and don't want to slide in the holes. Save any original seal that you can.

Your doing something really wrong. Did you cut the holes for the plastic sliders?

I replaced mine a few years ago and the glass with the seal and sliders on just slipped in easy

Of course I cut the holes.where did you get the seals from? Did they look like mine?

Issue solved and resolved. After a bit of examination, measuring and testing with a short piece of leftover seal I found that the track width was fine at the sliders and at the outer lip where the seal sticks out a bit against the glass. However, I could see that the rounded part of the seal that goes around the slider went too far and was getting tightly trapped at the corner in the track. I could see on the seal where it had been getting heavily compressed. I trimmed 1/8" off each side and now it slides in as it should. Looking at the original seal you can see that it wraps around the sliders more tightly preventing this issue. Damn aftermarket parts.

Mine weren't. I find that products change and complaints from 10 years ago don't apply anymore. That said I just came in from the garage after finding out that my new quarter glass jam end seals don't fit They will end up in the garbage along with my vent window seals.

Unfortunately I bought them 2 or 3 years ago from Classic Industries.

The vent window seals are Metro. Maybe the wrinkles could be worked out but the originals were still good. I’ll have to find the quarter jam seal pn but they are OER

I would still call and report the quality issue. If no one complains they think everything is perfect

You can submit reviews FWIW. I did manage to get the quarter jam seals to fit with some twisting...still not exact repros but they will do for now.

The reproduction vent channel seals from Classic Indistries are not even close to OEM. The plastic slider blocks are NOT the same and cannot be used. You still need to trim to length the seal and make the slider block holes. It is the same vent channel seals Classic sells for B-bodies. You shorten them to use on A-bodies. I ruined two sets of these at $100 a pop before I figured a way to install them without destroying them in the process.
