IS 700 HP POSSIBLE WITH......

I installed a "pro-built" 512 with all "good stuff" into a Challenger.
I was terrible to drive, noisy as hell 0.028 tappets, idled like ****.
Laid down 2 strips of rubber from 14" Mickey Ts from most lites.
He brought it back, I de "good stuffed" it, his wife still hated it.
He sold it .

Sounds like you had the wrong customers.

Some people just don't want a computer etc.

I can't reach that site from work but does it include all of the extra stuff needed? ECU, Harness, fuel system etc? It's never just "drop it in a go".

Even hellcats spend a lot of time in the shop so I'm questioning the reliability aspect as well.
The standard Blackbird engines run a carburetor. No computer unless you call the timing box a computer which I would not. It’s no more complicated than an MSD box and nobody calls an MSD 6AL a “computer.”

Mark Dudley Jr. dropped one as-in in his bracket car. It’s got more than 100 passes on it. Reliable so far.

I know FABO is maximum old curmudgeon and it’s a losing battle. I just wish more of the oldies realized what they so strongly defend with wedge motors is less HP/$, less drivability, and less reliability, especially when talking north of 600 HP. I like myself a 440 Magnum too, but would never hold a shield up for it against a modern carbureted Hemi.

So basically, it's a dumbed down 3rd gen, nothing new and I don't think anyone is truly impressed.

When most people start talking about 3d gens, it brings along the fuel injection vs carb argument. Saying people around here would say a wedge is better than a hemi (or opposed valve configuration as it's an evolution of a hemi chamber) combustion chamber assumes a lot.

I think you should take stock of your surroundings before calling people names about which you really know nothing about.

Each to there own I guess.

But people like what they like. Period. I don't come one here acting condescending to young guys about what they like. EFI and whatnot. I think it's cool. I might even try it one of these days. I doubt it, but you never know. But you can take your condescending attitude somewhere else, I'll tell you that real quick. Were it not for "oldies" you'd not have any of the stuff you like so why not think about that?

It includes everything to fire the engine up with sans gas and a battery. Did you read the list? It's actually a pretty dang good deal. If I had the dough, there'd probably be a new Hemi in Vixen.

Well as I said before, I couldn't read it at work so... no, did you actually read my post?

Finally read the specs, not bad at all to be honest.

Breaking the rules, but I still prefer a stout short block that can run around town all day with a two stage nitrous kit.

Power is there whenever you want it

the circle of life...
I was busy building other stuff, he wouldn't wait, and certainly wouldn't listen .
oh i have a few of those too!
Agreed, - he kept listing off what he ordered, I just kept shaking my head.
Really nice fella, too much money
yup, that tracks!

lemme guess he said: it's gotta sound nasty when it idles! or: i want that chop!

i know that a tick over 600/600 is possible in non stroker form with an indy top end and a sub 600 lift solid roller.

so 700 doesn't seem like that far of a reach with más y grande... however, like others have said you're quickly approaching the limits of a stock block at that point.

I would say that it’s probably about 1/2 the people who think they want a 700hp na street bruiser that don’t really understand what they’re asking for, or what the driving experience will be like.
If you’ve never had something like that, you’re probably in that group.
And many of those who go thru with it, won’t love it.

There’s a lot of discussion on exactly what constitutes a street car, but I look at it like this……..
“Most people” would likely consider a street car as something capable of completing an event like drag week.
I feel like a hot street/strip build should be able to meet that criteria…….. and not be in need of a rebuild at the end of the event.

I could see going 700 hp if your last engine was 650 hp not 350 hp and the cars primary purpose is racing, plus gonna be slightly hard to experience all 700 hp at 7000 rpms at normal street speed, then there's the expense of getting the rest of the car 700 hp capable.

This is not directed at the OP, I have no idea of your circumstances.

You don't need 700 HP to put a huge grin on your face .
If you need to "say" you've got 700 HP, - lie . . it seems acceptable now.
Sh*t, it's always been acceptable, 'specially if Your Daddy owned a 'vette........
