Trying to confirm info as my memory is not as good as it once was. Finally installing my gills and spears rocker mldgs. If car was equipped also with wheel opening mldgs, doesn't the rear wheel opening mldg have have to be cut off/shortened about 5in. to make room for the gills? The area below the spear is painted Argent. Does that include the pinch weld at the bottom? Thanks for help on the details.

argent silver below spear down to pinch weld.

the rear gills go over the wheel moldings.

the front moldings have been seen both ways: shorter in rear side of front molding that stops at spear. Also seen fronts all the way down in front of spear.

supposedly there are two different lengths of spears: longer if front molding is short. shorter spear if front molding goes all the way down.

The rear gills do not go over the rear wheel lip moldings. The molding stop at the top of them. Everything else is correct

Is it not physically possible for the die cast gills to go over or didn’t come that way?

I don’t have any good before pictures. I removed lip moldings. And I can’t trust my memory.

My car has been repainted. It looks like there is a gap. But that doesn’t mean it’s right.

Just today I tried to install the gills both ways, with or without wheel molding. Sorry, there is no contest. Gills fit much, much, much better without wheel moulding in the way. Cut the moulding and it's perfect. Still appreciate everyone's input.
