I gotta say I've been impressed with Summit lately. There was a while there I thought they might not be able to compete with the likes of Amazon and Walmart.

First is the price. Most of the time their prices are the same or better than Amazon. Of course they won't give you free shipping unless you spend $100 or more, BUT... in many cases I get my item in less than 24 hours. Summit also impressed me with a recent return, where they provided me with a no cost shipping label. Easy peasy... just dropped it off at a UPS store.

I'm happy to see them survive. Now... if we could just get the PAW (Performance Automotive Warehouse) back. Haha!

They will also match prices real quick like, too.

They will also continue to up the free shipping amount via small increments.

It's $109 now.

They do give you Summit Bucks after you spend a gazillion dollars in small amounts, that you cannot accumulate, and have a 6 week expiration date.

And no longer send out coupon codes with catalogs and flyers, no more free hats and swag in your order.

I use Summit all the time, but with little to no competition the perks are akin to in place of a raise at work you get a pizza party.

I just received an order today with a free hat. Although I have not tried it on either. One size fits most.

Haven't seen a free hat in a decade.
They're n8ce hats.
I got a free sticker last week, haven't even seen one of those in the same amount of time.

$20 off $249, $50 off $1,000, or whatever, are listed on their website regularly, and iirc qualifying purchases.
They're just trying to get you to at least that minimum of $249.

Speed card, a credit card with a 34.99% interest rate!

Credit posts to account within 60 days, so you're getting charged interest.
Must keep card open and not delinquent.
Plus other fees.
Must be a 'qualifying purchase.'
And the best part, the get to sell your info.

I still use Summit, a lot, they are usually the cheapest, just saying be aware and beware.

But it was 100 bucks for YEARS.

Everytime I've taken advantage of the speed card discount, they had zero interest and paid it off once the credit posted. No interest, extra charges or fees to speak of.

They can keep the f'n hat as long as they continue with the easy returns.... I don't want or need a hat.

It's funny.... I could be ordering something for $10, $15... $20 and I think to myself.... "what else do I need that's $100 so I can get free shipping. Haha! True...

I use them all the time due to the wide availability of parts. I've also had zero issues with them on the rare occasion I order a wrong part. I really only see two competitors for them: Jeg's - Their website is less user friendly and Mopar parts aren't listed or stocked as much, compared to Summit. Speedway - Hardly anything Mopar there. I recently bought a '23 T-Bucket with a SBC 350 (GASP!)/TH350. It's one of their kits, so unfortunately, this is where I can find parts for it. The bad, I ordered what I thought was the correct lake pipe header block offs, they weren't. When I tried to return the parts, they wanted to charge me an ~30% restocking fee. I just said scr#w it, since they only costs $40. Had I bought through Summit, it wouldn't have been an issue. BTW, I got a Summit hat in one of my recent purchases! I do think it's a random thing. Always get the stickers.

I likewise got a free hat in an order that arrived last week. And i dont weat hats.

Oh, and I also try to come up with "gotta haves" to get to the free shipping mark. Their gimmick is driving sales and im guilty!

I never have a problem with finding “gotta haves” to get to the hundred dollar shipping point, lol!

Last order I got a sticker, essentially free advert for them, no Bennie for me. A hat would be nice, I made a habit of wearing them to the races.
What I miss most! A paper catalog!
I was shopping in my newest that I could find, the other day..... a 1995.

I still receive paper catalogs occasionally from summit. Over all their hard to beat and will continue to buy most of my parts from them. Jegs does a pretty good job also but it takes up 3 more days for me to get my orders from them.

I bought a transfer case control unit for my Suburban from Summit and it messed up after about six months. I went back and updated my review of the part telling what happened and they contacted me based on my updated review and said they were sorry and would refund my money if I wanted. They sent a shipping label so I could send it back and then credited my card when they received it. I was very impressed.

The more you buy,,more often that is,,,the more free stuff you get .
Back when I was buying several dollars worth of stuff on a regular basis .
They sent hats and other stuff all the time .

Back when I bought a set of rear wheels and the matching Mickeys to go with them.
They sent me a free Summit jacket ,,,that was a Cool jacket for sure .

The problem with Summit is that I live fairly close to the Texas location and stop in when I am in the area and tend to stay so long (especially at the back in another building where the open boxes, discontinued and marked down stuff is) that, at some point my wife gets bored and leaves to go shop elsewhere. She will eventually find me and even if I don't actually buy anything, I still end up spending money :~/ .

Over a year ago I bought a set of cragar mag wheel for my barracuda. 2) 15x8, 2) 15x7. They had to come from three different warehouses! I took them to local tire shop and had tires mounted, balanced and installed. Shortly after I pulled the motor for a complete rebuild. A couple of months ago I finally got the engine back in. I took it to the tire shop for alignment, they told me the offset was different from one back wheel to the other. Upon further inspection, they had mis boxed a wheel and sent me 3 15x7, and only 1 15x8. One call to summit customer service. In a day I had the correct 15x8 wheel and a prepaid return slip for the 15x7. I thought that was above and beyond! It probably didnt hurt that the guy was an A body nut and had 3! But a year later? Very cool!

i will say that during the pandemic i had found victor heads on one site for 1200, checked with summit, they matched them, took over a year and they canceled order, called them, the heads were now 1600, they reordered and charged the original 1200 price.
