Big bolt pattern axles drum brake

Hi guys, I just switched my front brakes on my 67 dart to 73 dart disc brakes for the big bolt pattern. I had a set of big bolt pattern axles that were originally B-body but they have been shortened to A-body size. Is there a brake drum I can buy that will let me use the 1 3/4” shoes? Or am I going to need to replace everything including the backing plate. Thanks

TYour B-body axle flange and wheel bearing offset has to be matched with the 10x2 drums and corresponding backing plate. It's a package deal.

You can't use the small bolt pattern shoes, drums or backing plates. They need to be off a late big-bolt A body, or a B, C, E or F/M/J body. Ten or eleven inch will work.
There's also the possibility of using early five-bolt Dakota, or Jeep (with an 8.25 rear) Cherokee or '98 and earlier Grand Cherokee brakes. Or full-size trucks/vans with the 5x4.5 pattern.
There's plenty out there.

drill your small bolt axles and drums to big bolt. That is what I am doing with my car . a am also using small bolt disc brakes with 1966 mustang big bolt rotors

ok normally people just change out everything. While this puts lower cost parts with better availability on the A body it adds rear brake to a car with too much rear brake already.
The Mopar B body six and 273 cars came with a 10x1 3/4 drum. That drum is hard to come by but that is one way to retain the A body brake.
The other option is to use an AMC drum. Yes they work. Yes the register is the same size. Yes the offset is correct.
I’ve done it. You retain the A body backing plate and brakes. I found a pair of original AMC drums that look like the 70 up “darth vader” drum.

If you're sbp axles are in bad shape you can get sbp axles drilled for bbp from Dr Diff, not listed on his website, need to contact.

Early v8 cars like the amx or 69 javelin.
AMC used the 10 x 1 3/4 on several cars
Keep a watch on eBay. The drums do show up occasionally. Including the B body ones

If you want to pay for custom cut axles have the company you chose cut down the axle register to ford size.
Big bolt pattern and you will never run out of drums.
Yes ford used a drum dimensions are perfect for this application as well except for the center bore.

Oldmanmopar, I have a 67 Barracuda with 8-3/4" rear and Kelsey Hayes discs up front. I'll like to go big bolt pattern as well, are the mustang rotors a bolt in with the existing calliper assemblies? Can you please provide some more information?

I know you were asking someone else but the short answer is no. Mustang rotors have different diameter, different bearing locations in addition to the bolt pattern you want. To use the mustang rotor, leed brakes and ssbc both use the mustang rotor in their conversion kits.
