What is it with some people..

Saw a piston off with some cheap China band saw. And bore a block with router.
Nah.. he's fking it up wrong, ya gotta Ink it all the way around and bench grind it till the ink mark is gone ;) lol
Yeah like let's take a standard block to .060 over with a cordless drill and stone hone attachment... ..3 months later.. put it together and it's like an 8 hole oil smoke machine

no no, you're thinking of the guy that thought machine shops were a rip off so he was gonna use a mag drill and hone/next over his block after cutting down some piston crowns with his "ban-saw"

so, in the same vein as captain bondo hack, but mechanical in nature.

anyway, here's these magnificent gems:

That's what I was thinking. My apologize for confusing the 2.

You just know I was going to be in that mix

I agree. I am a mod_admin at a firearm outdoor website. We had to warn one guy to stop telling member's to do things not safe and some not legal. After removing post and threads he got a ban.
Sadly people will suggest doing things that make things worse or unsafe in every aspect of life.
I think it is past trolling.
I am starting to think things are worse now as some use AI to spam and lots are click farming with links.
Seeing a lot of old accounts hacked I have to remove. Scammers and idiots never rest.

The only thing good about Chad's videos are the comments bashing him.
The best thing sbout Bad Chads' Show is his hot girlfriend. Some of his concepts are interesting, but his execution of them is not good!

Shoot.. I remember that guy. Lol
Yeah that was interesting.. to say the least.
I saw something the other day where a guy was doing a re ring kinda deal and used a small piece of stone or something to surface the head. There's a very strong lack of understanding going on in the world.. thats for sure
I've gone over a head & block with a piece of wet/dry on a very flat piece of hard Maple(a very stable hardwood), very lightly to clean it before checking it with a Starrett straightedge & feeler gauges to check flatness. But I wasn't fooling myself into thinking I was 'Surfacing' it. Some I did have surfaced. Flatheads use such a thick gasket that Copper Coat will seal them if not too far out.
Also 'Eagle Machine Company of Indianapolis', now defunct, built a portable boring machine in the late 1920s or early 1930s that bolted to the head studs of period engines, and after indicating to each bore separately you could bore or hone the cylinders as needed. A hone job & a piston knurling would get you back on the road back then. For a while!
So that concept has merit, just not for today. And a drill press! Please, not stout enuff.

A buddy had a Quickway boring bar....magnetic base and he did some good work with it. Just didn't have a way to make sure the cylinders were perfect with the others. I think he still uses it. He moved to another town over 200 miles away so I don't get to see what he's doing anymore.

I have a piece of 1 3/4 square stock (actually key stock) that I put on a surface grinder to make sure it was flat that I used for checking for flat plus machined a 'dummy shaft' to bolt into the mains and check for block square.

I couldn't remember the name Quickway boring bar earlier. An older racing mechanic I knew would use one to bore an Offy block, which are resleevable. So you bore tgem after installing.

He has inhaled way too much Methyl-ethyl Keytone peroxide.

yeah, really bringing that synthetic cubism along 100 years later...

Here's what he just posted. I think y'all should make his ban permanent if he's goin all over social media bashing the forum.

"They're a bit moody over at the car forum. I won't mention which one . It recently came to light why you don't see the common sense type of repairs that people do to their cars according to their cars value. They want you to spend tens of thousands on a ten thousand dollar car. Without going into too much detail ( unless someone wants me to ) it all centers on 2 things- Gold membership and sponsors. You can not randomly talk about buying or selling an item out on the general forum. If someone is showing off a car they just purchased and it is missing the jack base. They can't mention that they are wanting one. They have to make a wanted thead. And if you notice they need a jack base you can't say you have one you will sell them. You have to start a For Sale thread. It's nothing like talking to someone at a car show or cruise. It's all business. If someone is selling something for 300 dollars in the For Sale section and you know where they can get the same thing for 80 dollars, you can't mention that. Lots of circumstances but none geared to help someone out if the site can make money by you not helping someone out. The reason things are pushed to the For Sale section is that if you are a Gold member ( paying ) you can bump your ad every 3 days. If youaren't one you can't . They will not moderate against harassing a member that doesn't do things in their way. Very hard to navigate and participate if you don't keep on your mind what you think they want you to do. Some old-timers there have been conditioned over the years and just play along ."
