This is Skippy.

It's taken us more than three months to develop trust enough to put him in a cage.

I'm pretty sure that's bone sticking out of the leg up top. Looks crushed. Will probably have to come off.

Trying to see about getting him in to a vet this week.

He will let me pet him, and it's pretty easy to get food and litter in and out of the cage without him making a break for it.

Poor guy.

is it the bone or is kitty so stressed he licked/bit the fur off to the bone?

He doesn't groom that arm, leading me to believe there's no feeling.
If he is lying down, it can be at almost any angle.
Then it is easier to see the top and where I believe there is visible boke protrusion.
He does appear to use it as a partial crutch, though.
You would think that would be extremely painful if there was any feeling left.

We got lucky and got an appointment with SPCA tomorrow morning.
I'm fully prepared for them to recommend euthanasia.
However, he's very friendly and has made it this far.
My wallet is already starting to hurt.

difficult to do that to a family member. must not be infected so that's a good thing.

Skippy just "showed up" a few months ago.
Not really a family member per se, but of course, every interaction brings us closer.

Here's our little Lizzy. Over a year old now. Stays outside most of the time (she's a hunter), but comes in to eat and sometimes spends most of the night inside.

Right now she's just chilling in a basket that my wife left on the floor near her desk.

FeLV test negative.

Proceeding with amputation.

Next time we see him, he'll be a three wheeler.

Taking him back to SPCA this morning (long story) the car reeked of dead flesh and rot.

Perhaps we are just in time.
