Speedmaster vs trick flow

-
Between the different valve pockets and shorter CH of the 405 pistons, it’s about a 10cc difference in the compression calculation…….. which in that combo will likely work out to about 1 point of compression.
So do you mean 9.5 to 9.6 or 9.5 to 10.5?

I ran the Speedmasters with 405cp's and the camshaft attached with good results.

A pair of Promaxx 171 cc heads, less valve springs, are 1202.75 right now plus shipping:

Pull the R.V. cam out and put a SFT in there. This cam works extremely well with a low compression street effort:

Are the SM heads oil thru heads or pushrod ?

I ran some numbers for an uncut block and a .040 gasket……..

It’s like 8.8(405) to 9.7(116)

If you cut .020” off the deck(4cc) you end up with…….

9.2(405) and 10.1(116)

I ran the 116’s in my 360 with EQ heads and it pulled fairly hard in the midrange with a SFT .550”@248/256.

Thank you, SM site lists push rod oiling.
Not the ones I've run. Look at the Promaxx website. The head is likely made in the the same foundry (China). They're $1208 a pair without springs right now. I run Beehive springs with the SM heads.

Good luck!

According to Charles Servedio the airgap intake flows only 220cfm (worst port). Does new high flowing heads help if intake flow only that? I dont know just thinking.

According to the SM website they offer 4 heads for small block mopar. 3 are oil thru pushrods, one is oil thru head. That one is sold as a bare head. pce281-1654"

Their website is written by Chinese bots. All the SM heads are oil through heads, and you can oil through pushrods if you need to(magnum). They are a direct copy of the Edelbrock performer LA head.

This is 100 percent correct.
@GGress Do you know which model you have?

ALL Speedmaster Aluminum small block Mopar heads ARE OIL THROUGH!!!! No matter what their description is!!!

The iron magnum heads are not oil through.
