Chrome plating the EPA pretty much killed the industry. I zinc plate at home pretty easy to do. Might get into chromates, also easy

I'll be starting my last jukebox restoration this winter, and when I called the chrome guy to get that process started he sounded pretty "down" about the whole industry.

Maybe I'll just build a "patina" juke and start a new trend.
 
I do have a few things chromed, I send them to parts hound in Wisconsin and his guy is still in business. Glad I do not need alot!

My last chrome bill was a little over $7k all-in....for a jukebox. And that was in 2017.

I hate to think what the bill is going to be this time around.

(Edit: Forgot to mention that I've done some zinc plating at home myself as well, but only small parts. Simple enough, once you get the hang of it.)

I have a pair of NICE bumpers for a 64 and 65 Valiant/Barracudy I'd like to get rechromed, but we don't have a good place around here anymore. I've read on here there's a place in Tennessee that does good work. I'm $ure it ain't cheap.

Washington did one for the "free" HOV lanes, there were and still are times you can drive in them for "free", used to NOT need any transponder sticker to do so, now you do, and that's $15 plus tax for that "for free".

It was locked for a while. I have been baby setting that one from the start when I saw Brewer's name in the title. You don't publicly throw a vendor under the bus because of your own ignorance. Not on my watch anyway. There is a lot of stupidity in that thread along with negativity that I felt needed to disappear.
