Currently "Skippy", so "Trippy" could be appropriate.
Thank-you for not getting upset about the name. After some time thinking about it, I felt it was out of place to say that and I apologize for being incensitive about the situation. I really hope the best for him and his family. :)

Update-

Surgery went well.
Wife is on the way to pick him up.
Will be interesting trying to care for that fairly major wound with him being VERY feral.
I think I am the only human he will allow to touch him.
...but he does want to be petted by me.

Unfortunately, we lost one of the kittens last week.
Stopped nursing and got lethargic.
We bottle fed for several days but it just didn't make it.

Sad.

He/She (hard to tell that young) is in the back yard pineapple patch surrounded by older friends.

Goodbye little kitty. You were not here long, but you were loved.

FeLV test negative.

Proceeding with amputation.

Next time we see him, he'll be a three wheeler.

Taking him back to SPCA this morning (long story) the car reeked of dead flesh and rot.

Perhaps we are just in time.
Aww man. Well at least yall are saving him. Good for yall.

I'm so sorry. We have a dedicated patch, too. All our friends are there. I go out and talk to them regularly.

Onyx girl and Ruby girl chilling in their small bed. There’s a six year difference, and they really bonded.

Temperatures are changing, nights and days are starting to get colder outside, and cats living on the streets are looking for a warm place to shelter.
That's why I look in and under my car every time I leave the house, or make sure all the cats are in the house before I leave.

Say hello to Rocky and Trixie. They are brother and sister 9 month old Maine Coons. Rocky has had a rough go of it. He got FIP that used to be 100% fatal. There is now an antiviral that is based on Remdesivir that seems to be working very well. FIP is the feline version of Covid. One more week of meds for him. They are quite the clowns and growing fast. Rocky is now 41 inches long and weighs about 13 lbs. They will grow for another 3 plus years. Lord help us. Their father weighed 32 lbs. I picked them up to be company for my wife when I decide to go hunting or fishing. Best birthday present I ever gave her. She loves them.

only 8? and, yes, our females were finicky eaters. Wife said her boys would eat anything, and all of it.
There were a few stragglers. We have 12 total now. One of the outside cats really isn't ours. That's Cletus. He's a neighborhood cat that just shows up when he wants to. We feed him, let him in for a bit, make sure he's not hurt and he gets his rabies shot every three years. I was hoping he might show up while we still have some turkey but so far no Cletus.
