That's the industry trend.
I'm in the business and pre-owned Tesla's value are dropping like a rock!
The same is true of other makes as well.
I just traded a 2025 Cadillac IQ.
Purchase price last year including financing... $202,000.00 Canadian
Trade price... 110,000.00 Canadian. Customer bailed before the vehicle was completely worthless.
Pay no attention to the for sale ads, they are asking prices, not what vehicles actually sell for.
A lot of customers who purchased them financed over 7 and 8 years because they were so expensive and still owe the majority of the principle plus interest and are "very upside down".
The car is out of Manufacturer warranty after 4 years (no I'm not referring to the battery as that almost never gives trouble..Its everything else.). This is leaving owners in a very vulnerable position if anything goes wrong as they can't afford the payments adding the lien difference into another car so they are rolling the dice hoping they don't have an expensive part failure. ( Electric Motor is approx. $30,000.00 repair)
This attempt by stupid politicians trying to look green to garner "tree hugger, facebook, instagram morons" votes is a gigantic financial failure for the Auto manufacturers and will probably kill the North American Auto Manufacturing industry.
Good luck to all you well paid North American autoworkers...your union can't save you from this.
