When blocking my car they used tape on the body line. You sand up to it, then reposition the tape and sand down to it. Helps keep it sharp and from moving...

There is another one on the roof for the Notchbacks that seems to disappear. Highlighted here due to the lighting.

Another area you have to be protective of and make sure you don't lose detail

That picture of the tape on the 1/4 panel lower style line does a good job showing that it is short and quickly fades into the panel. Thats how the cars were originally but a detail that is over looked in most restorations

Here’s my notchback I’m kinda ashamed to show it but in the 70s it was just a $100. Car in one of the pictures the body line is real deep

Interior gutted enough for the blaster to work on the rear half Wednesday. All the bright work ready to take to the polisher Tuesday. Then need to gather up the parts to rechrome and get them down to Capital Metal in Tucson.

The old tire gave up the ghost just hanging in the air!

First cuts made with a little extra to allow fitting nicely later. You can probably see the process and what I am planning now. If I wasn’t out of welding gas I would have had my marking tool welded up and the frames marked precisely for the cuts. Using the axle bumper screws as the datum to cut the frame. Yes I’ll cut one a little long and dial it in with the belt sander. That said I’m ready to load up the fastback and panels for the Blaster on Wednesday!

Blaster wants it at 6 am tomorrow. Back half and panels will get blasted then I can weld in the rear clip and get it positioned before cutting out the quarter panels and get that blasted before welding on the new quarter panels lowers.

Of course after you get welding gas you run out of wire. Oh well need to take the F100 to get an exhaust tomorrow anyway so will get some then. Even Az metal can need a little love after 60 years in the elements. And the removal of the towing hitch!

This place is starting to look like Kueneman Kustoms.

I wish I had a rotisserie for my dart. So far I have vacuumed out 70 lbs of fine Colorado / Texas red dust. I need to turn it over and vibrate the heck out of it.
