Barn Find

-
Sweet find. I wish that would happen to me one day.

Haha

All I can say is DAMN!! Lucky duck. 3 build sheets, & a true survivor! Congrats. I was histerical when I found my one build-sheet under the back seat, I would have dropped dead if I was to find 3 of them! Dont forget to look behind the bucket seat backs for more broadcast sheets, they put them behind there also!

nice find, love the color combo

I do know where a barn is that has many 60's muscle cars and one is a 69 Dart Swinger 340 auto car. Very low mile car been sitting since about '76. It was hidden so not to be lost in a divorce and sat so long the original owner was afraid to try and start it. Allen bought it many years ago and it has been in his barn ever since. He was going to do his superbee and had others to work on. I should check on this one to see if he would sell it.

Fantastic Find! That is a beaut. Beautiful blue/white combo as well. Love to see more pics for sure.

One question. In another thread there has been much discussion on whether the 72 340 Scoop cars had their hood cut with two holes by the factory. I am certain mine were, and others either have been agreeing or disagreeing. Does your's have these holes?

Grant

Great question Grant....

I read the other thread also on the 72 hood scoop holes and seems the jury is still out.

Maybe Mike can shed more light on this.

Man I'm still wondering when my day comes and I find a car to buy. Yesterday I came across a 70 or 71 Challenger in the back lot of a flower shop on my way to work (owner said not for sale), then no more then 15 minutes later passed a 71 or 72 440 Charger (I may inquire about it but it looks like someones been working on it to get her on the road). And today when I got to this house I was going to paint, across the street was a 70 or 71 Slant-Six gold Duster in what seemed to be mint condition. I might be back there tomorrow so I will knock on the guys door to talk to him about it.

That is one of the best finds I have seen in a while, Congrat's!!!

Grant, my first 72 Demon was a 340 factory car and it had the holes cut out with the gaskets that were supposed to keep the water out. The Demon Sizzlers did not have the holes in the hood.

Great find! Gotta stupid question since I live in Southern California - what's a 'barn'? Just kidding! Again, great find!!!

WOW that thing is so clean! For that price I can see why you would jump at the opportunity to buy it! You don't even need to do anything to it, it looks so clean...that is one awesome color combo though,

that is truely one of the nicest demons i have ever seen. i don't think i have ever seen that combo before. i have seen black interior w/ the white top. very nice indeed!

I am sick!
I have been looking for a '72 for a while now.
10K is higher in price range for what I have been looking for but-
I would have no regrets paying that for a find like this!
Original / unrestored a-bodies drive me insane.
And with a triple white on blue! Gosh! I love it!

Any chances of letting that rallye wheel and polyglass tire go?

Just once in my life I would give my left cajolie to be able to go through the thrill of crawling into an old barn and seeing a lump covered under some old rotting tarp and noticing a rip in the tarp and seeing a hint of chrome and a red lens, pull back the tarp and find some old gem, a car, any car, what a thrill that would be...shwiiing!
Beauty car by the way.

You should have taken a movie of you taking the wall out to get this car. This is incredible considering it's in the rust belt.

Like some said, this is out of my price range but I think you got a great deal!

BTW, why no movie of the 100+ run? lol!

sizzler hood in this case has the cut outs with gaskets, Busy today rebuilding thermoquad, accelerator pump shot. mike

A little something to sleep on. when I asked about the build sheet he had no idea what I was talking about. I pulled 1 from above the glove box, 1 from behind the back seat and 1 still under the driver seat. Never say never.
Are they all for this car?

yes and I was lucky enough to be the one to pullem mike

One thing I noticed is the white side and tail stripes and the black stripes on the hood. I have never seen that combo before.

The demons with the white "sizzler style" hood treatment are very rare.
I have only seen a couple of cars ever with the white hood decals.

I don't think one person has commented on what looks to be some kind of sixty-seventies style astric/stars painted around the demon emblem on the front fender! - I guess it's an added bonus for the buyer who ended up purchasing it from this storage building or barn.
It is not just a "Demon" it is a ***"Demon"***!

EXCELLENT.......................:cheers::cheers:

Man, I thought my swinger was a great barn find 12 years ago and it didn't have the orginal 340....that's AWESOME !!!
