I grew up in Lockridge (pop. 200) and Fairfield in the southeast corner. When I returned from Viet Nam in August 1970, I bought a ivy green 69 Dart Swinger 340, 4-speed and a 3.55 posi.. I raced it pure stock in Eddyville the summer of 1971. It ran a best of 9.12 on a national record of 9.29 (I/Pure Stock AHRA). I also raced brackets at Keokuk, still pure stock only a pair of slicks, it turned a best of 8.78 (broke out I was running at 8.80). I also did a lot of street racing then, sure enjoyed beating the Z-28s and Boss 302s! In that time I was only beaten on the street (heads up) by a 70 Z-28 350/350, a GTO Judge and a 69 1/2 Super Bee 440+6.

I sure wish I had my old Swinger! Dick Heckenberg

Im here from Fort Dodge. Working on a 1972 scamp. I need a floor for my scamp. So if your parting something out or have a old junk shell with a good floor. Or you just happen to have a new floor pan that your not going to use(thats just a wish) look me up.

Outlaw> I'm from Iowa. Cedar Rapids. I've been in California most my life but my Mom was from Lamott and my dad from Cedar Rapids. My paternal grandfather was a farmer and my maternal grandfather was a hog farmer.
In 1975 Lamott still had gravel roads.
I hope to take my 75 Swinger cross country to visit with my multitude of cousins in Iowa in 2011.
See you there!!
