Just bein' GOLDIE!

Ordered new springs from Espo, 5 leafs and +1" over stock height. They have regular and heavy duty, these are non H/D, from reading other threads I think I will be good. Will post pics soon, meanwhile Goldie's taking a rest.

I figured why spend money on air shocks when I really need new leafs....

Even if I had a work space, I just don't have the mechanical skills most of you guys have...anyway, I'm helping the economy, right?

New wheels, tires, leaf springs and kyb shocks. The springs are from ESPO, they are +1" over stock. They are a good company to deal with, parts came already painted, complete, and shipped fast.

I bought the shocks from PST, they gave me a FABO discount and shipped fast as well. Here are before and after photos.

way cool pics! I am planing to use the same springs on my 66 so its nice to be able to see what it is going to look like

Looks great!!!! glad to see you fix the leafs. I always thought going the air shocks route just "mask" the real problem.

Aloha

Awesome car! Keep up the great work. Cool wheels and stance. Did the new leaf springs do that for your stance? Did you also install the air shocks?

i really like the way goldie looks with those slotted wheels. they make a sweet car look even sweeter!

Those wheels really look great on that car. Sorry to hear you had to let the Fury go. Got any pics of it to post? Here's mine.

Just took the first drive with the new carb, I bought it off ebay, it was said to be for a 66 Dart 273 auto, 2bbl Carter, it was still in the box 'remanufactured by Holley.' I swooped in at the last second of the auction and got it for $51. I hope it wasn't a member on here that I outbid.

The old carb was really worn out....easy to flood when hot, terrible gas mileage, etc. So far driving around with the new carb, it seems a little more peppy and crisp.

Just wanted to share my joy lol.

Wow,I don't know how I missed this thread! She looks great. I guess i should stop calling you Goldie,my mistake, sorry. You have turned her into a completely different car with a great stance.Good work Mr.Goldfish.8)

Call me and/or my car Goldie, doesn't matter, we're all family here anyway.

Next order of business, barring unforeseen circumstances: disc brakes. Recent threads tell me the Kelsey-Hayes setup is available...just need to find out EXACTLY everything I need for 'early-a's' that came from the factory with drums.

I have been missing this thread :read2: I seen that you said you got a new carb and had to check it out
I am in the same boat goldfish, I need to have a new set of springs put on Victoria. I spent my money on some 14'' Ralleys and tires and other thing under the hood that is installed and hiding out. I must say Goldie is looking fine as wine bud =P~=P~ The new springs and wheels sure do look good.
I hope to have a dual pot master soon and new springs and dump the air shocks she needed to run the 14'' Ralleys. When all of that kind of stuff is dun a new pain job will bring out the beauty in Victoria so she will be looking like Goldies little low deck 170 / sister :-D
Plymouth all the way  I am so happy for yall, Did you get the rear bumper replaces ?

A cool, sunny day for a drive 60 miles north of Atlanta to see my Dad. A couple gulps of Marvel Mystery Oil on top of a full tank of 93 octane, and starting out on the interstate at a leisurely pace...but as it always happens, Goldie wanted to go FAST, like all the new cars! The little 180 hp 273 just humming along like we are back in the 1960's.

My Dad is 74, semi-retired but always involved in cool projects. It seems like more and more he is remembering stuff we did together when I was a kid, things I had even forgotten about. His wife cooked a big Sunday dinner and we broke out some liquor I made last year, which incidentally eased my discomfort from being in their cluttered and dusty house. All and all we had a great time hanging out...I see my Dad slowing down and I don't know how much longer he will be around. I do know I won't accomplish 1/10th of what he has in his lifetime.

After seeing me off with hugs and a 'care-package,' and a check of fluid levels, it was a smooth drive back to the city to tuck Goldie into the parking garage at work before the approaching rain comes, and take the Crown Vic home.

After reading some recent posts about members' Sunday outings, I just thought I would add mine. By the way, Goldie has some DISC BRAKE PARTS and 1" TORSION BARS coming this week, hopefully to be installed SOON!

No funds to get anything done! But Goldie hasn't given up so I won't either. Just went for our bi-weekly drive, he still runs great. Never has let me down. For those of you whose projects are at a standstill, there are others here in the same boat. Bumping this thread in case any new members haven't seen...here's a few new pics I took the other day.

Just bringing this thread out because today I asked for prayers for my Dad...I couldn't find a pic of him but there's one here on the first page. Thank you for the prayers, I know they will help.

Went to get Goldie out of his fish-cave (the parking garage at work), was reconnecting the battery cable when I noticed the engine was sitting crooked. Drove carefully to my friend's shop, he replaced the motor mounts and transmission mounts. The clunking I assumed was coming from the front end has disappeared. Nice to know the engine isn't flopping around anymore.

David.....how have I missed this thread? I know I ain't got but one eye and all but it works good. Goldie's lookin great!

I have got to get a set of those leaf springs this summer, or late spring, Prayers for your dad and Thank you for bumping this thread back up, Goldie sure looks great
