Locomotion,
I haven't kept up with Marvin and Joan since I moved to Jacksonville 5 years ago.
I am going to Silver Springs this week-end and see if he is around.

Thanks. He invited me over, probably 20 years ago. I always wanted to see his collection but never had time. Then I lost the contact info and directions.
Hope he is doing well.

Locomotion,

Back in the day when I was around him kinda often his collection included.

The 5 cars listed in the article:
Petty Blue Superbird
64 Hemi Dodge
67 Belvedere 11 Conv.
68 Hemi Dart
67 Hemi Charger
The Charger was undergoing resto and it turned out beautiful. Red with white interior. It has been pictured in a couple of the HP Mopar books.
Look for the pink Fl. Insp. sticker in the lower left corner of the windshield.

Also, a 67 Hemi Coronet (non RO/WO) 2 dr sedan in pale yellow.

67 GTX Hemi 4 sp. Black, white top and white and burgandy int. 1 of 7.
Looking down the side of the car was like looking along a black window. If you pinstriped the floor next to the car, the reflection was perfectly straight.

70 Hemi Cuda that went to Wisc. or Minn.

Jim Vandiver's NASCAR/ARCA Charger. # 31.
Marvin actually drove it iat the end of the movie 'Greased Lightning' were Wendall Scott won his 1st Nascar race.
Check him out at 3:15

56 D500 Conv. they bought from the Harrah's Museum.

70 Dodge short bed pick-up parts runner. Nascar Hemi for power. Later on he did another one with a modified 440 Six Pak manifold, carbs and air cleaner on a Hemi.

D50 with a Hemi

About 9 Hemi engines on stands and a whole bunch of NOS and used parts.
Joan called those 2 rooms the 'retirement fund'.

You would have to tie your tongue to your ear lobe to keep it from dragging in the sand!!

that is Vance cummings from Michigan. There is a You Tube video of this car pulling a huge wheelie and crashing down hard on the track. His Son did the body work and paint on my 69 swinger. His son told me his dad got really into wheelies and they would have to work on the car after a race weekend to repair all the damage. maybe someone can find the vid and post.

Not a SS class cars but.....................
