Just returned home from Las Vegas and Mopars At The Strip. This was the best one I've been to yet! The show area was completed full of nothing but Mopars, the racing was great to watch, and the weather was mostly good (a little windy and cool on Friday and Saturday). The concert entertainment at the Cannery (host hotel) was good and as always, it was LAS VEGAS!! What more needs to be said?
If you haven't been to MATS before, start saving and definitely make plans to attend in 2011 if at all possible. The Painter family puts a ton of effort into making this an outstanding Mopar event.

Oh yeah, there was a Super Chevy event the previous weekend and those I talked to said there was only 1/3 the amount of cars in the show area compared to the Mopar attendance.

Lots of pics to post so have patience - I'll try to post them in batches with a bit of explanation.
Pics are mostly A-bodies, but some B-Bodies, E-bodies, and others that I thought were interesting.

The first batch of pics are of a "field find" from Utah. These are especially for GTXperience 'cause he's building one of the same vintage and I thought he'd enjoy these 'before' pics. Check out the factory tool set that was still under the front seat.

Some outstanding Mopars that were competing for "World's Ultimate Mopar". The level of detail work was almost unbelievable.

The Chrysler Airflow street rod was also competing for "World's Ultimate Mopar". It was SWEET! I also included a pic of a stock Airflow for comparison - the stock Airflow was at MATS with the Las Vegas Mopar club.

Ken, thanks for the pics from the show. It looks like it was an incredible event. BTW: My jaw hit the ground when I saw that '35. Mine is also a '35 PJ coupe. You should know it pretty well since you helped me pick up the front fenders and grill shell for it. ;) Glad to hear you had a good time at MATS and look forward to seeing you in 2-3 weeks at Woodely Park.

Check out the '70 Plymouth B-body tail lights on this A-body - I thought it looked really good. This car is a very recent build, the paint had just been buffed the week before MATS.

How about a Viper-powered Jeep? It had a 'For Sale' sign on it. $55K and it could by yours.

Some vintage Sox & Martin and a new S&M "Cuda". The new Sox & Martin "Cuda" is going to be touring the country this year and will be raffled off at the 2011 MATS. I'd love to have this in my garage!

My bud Billy, a fellow Inland Mopars Car Club members beautiful '64 Fury won "2nd Place B-Body Modified" in the judged show category. He built it himself with a few friends help. The car that won "1st Place" in the same category was a professional shop build.
Great job, Billy!

You may remember the '70 Dart my club (Inland Mopars Car Club) built as our 2009 charity raffle car.
Here it is entered in the A-body judged show competition.
Here's some pics of the car with the winner (center), his dad (left in the pic), and Ron Borden from Inland Mopars(right in the pic). Ron was one of the primary builders of the car and, as always, did an outstanding job.
This car picked up the "2nd Place A-Body Modified" award in the judged show category, a "Cannery Hotel Choice" award and was invited to be shown at the host hotel on Friday night of MATS, had two magazine shoots done at MATS, and the car owner was interviewed on-camera by the "Chop, Cut, Rebuild" television crew. Not a bad weekend!
The raffle winner and now car owner told us he's continually blown-away by the quality of the build for a give-away car. He said he's always being complimented by how nice the car is and people just don't believe it's a 'give-away' car, especially with the Paxton-supercharged 360. Again, great job kudos to Ron Borden and John Wilkiewicz (club members and primary builders)!

... another club members car. This pretty little E-body belongs to our current club VP. It was her 1st car and is still #1 in her heart!
BTW, she drove it to Las Vegas.
