Thanks for the input guys. I spoke with a few more local machinist and they said it wont be any problem to sleeve it as long as its done with the right clearances.

I'm lookin into that as well.

I think I'm gonna get some more input from other local shops on how they do it. :toothy7:

He said that pressing the sleeve in will distort the cylinders. I have seen in some articles that the sleeve should be super cooled before installing. He stated that he just presses his in with no cooling.

My 383 is bored 30 over. #4 cylinder needs a sleeve. My machinist says that a sleeve will cause the adjacent cylinders to egg shape. I need some advice. :cry: :cry:

Agreed, but a 74 swinger ain't the coolest. Most folks don't like the beak or the tail. I'm big blockin it, puttin quiet muffins on it and slammin it to the ground to keep it a sleeper, so people might just laugh at it. So "BB DAISY" or "LAF-AT-IT" might just fit. But then again they may laugh...

My tail light bezels are pitted. Replace or Rechrome? Who can rechrome or where can I get them.

I'm assuming a 489 clutch type would be best? Does it matter which splines for axles? I'm hoping to pick up one a the Nat's.
