Good day y'all,
Just wanted to commend on the progress over the posts as it really illustrates how much is involved in each step. Wish I had a % of the motivation demonstrated on this project. Definitely keep up the *** kickin work!!
Kind regards, C
Lordoffrisco,
Interesting, my 66 Formula S was also factory delivered without the sure-grip in a 3.23 open. But, tracked down for $75 a mostly complete 7 1/4 sure-grip w/3.55's. Hope to swap b4 spring. Just seems wrong to not have a SG in there.
Good eve y'all,
Have always loved these as well.
Here's my 66 Formula S. Still rolling the original drive train and in decent operating condition.
Really diggin that Skootin Cuda!
Keep up the motivational post.
Thanks, C.
Good day Y'all,
The only motor that came as the standard in the Formula S option was the 273 Commando up until 66. The engine was an option in any other vehicle choice.
And the only differences between the Commando/Charger motor was the label on the A/C and some coloration.
Keep digging on that...
That is an awesome machine, and would be an great restoration when completed. Plus, don't kid yourself there are some recent
sales of these early Formula S cars going for $20's & $30's correctly done.
Thanks, C.
The retracts were an option and I'm finding many different configurations depending on an actual personally optioned car or whether it came from the factory in that manner. On my 66 FS there are retracts but no center console? Front discs but no sure-grip? Who does that?
Good day,
While not in pristine shape I do have an early date coded unmolested US 66 Formula S w/trunk letters. Pretty sure the Canadian version did not have letters as Tonto7 mentioned or as pictured in your literature.
Good day,
Welcome to you and yours.
Despite the "in pieces" part, can't speak for all but
still get excited over pictures of piles of re-discovered
Mopar stuff. Would love to see your start point.
C.
