The issue is the fit at the stainless trim, it wande curved and the flat doesn't go in well
Look at post 15, the last photo illustrates the OEM curve vs the aftermarket flatter.
BUT.... I don't know who made my lock strip as it came with my gasket.
See if jegs can give you the manufacturers...
Is the rear particularly high in the air?
I have 215 70R14 and I have about 1/2 inch to the spring (maybe 3/4) and some clearance to the lip. But I don't see how with my stock rear springs I could add another 1.5" (40mm) (3/4" on each side) to the tire width on my 67 dart.

Mount the hose reel half way in and out.
Then build a 5 sided box big enough to have 2-4" of ridged foam insulation on the inside.
Get spring hinges like on an interior garage...
I did similar with a length of 1/2 inch vinyl hose on my shop vac. I got 70 lbs of super fine Texas and or Colorado high desert red clay dirt out of it.
I have a bag of artifacts that I found in the most interesting places, like a clear plastic cup from a liquor store in TX inside the quarter...
