Well the results are in, I give the trickflow 240s ! That is two thumbs up! From a 10.29 to a 9.75. That is a half second from changing the heads from home ported 906 with bigger valves to the 240s. My car is in the left lane and my son’ 1968 dart with a 440.

Well I got my TF 240s in and doing some measuring. Looks like they are going to work. Piston to head, piston to valve, and valve to cylinder wall clearance checked out with the cam straight up. Now to take it apart and clean and reassemble...

Well I pulled the trigger on the Trick Flow 240s. Darn I missed the coupon sale and that would have saved me $200. I will let you know how it goes when they get here.

Thank you everyone that has responded. I guess what it comes down to is what is the head flow requirements of a 394 cu in engine in the 7000 rpm range? There is probably a formula for that but I don't know what it is but maybe someone else does?

I have this engine in a 1981 Dodge Omni. (Sorry not an A body). It ran a best of 10.29 ET. My Omni is in the far lane. In the near lane is my son’s 1968 Dart. The Dart has a 541 with Indy ported 440-1. It runs 9.3 in the quarter mile.

Thank you for your response, I didn't think my home porting would flow that much either. That was a flow number I found online for a 906 head. Still hoping to hear from AndyF on what he thinks about it. The only reason I thought about the 270s was about the 6.4 Hemis and the Apache head flowing...

Thank you for your reply, I have a 750 double pumper, a 5000 stall converter in a two speed powerglide transmission, and a 4.30 rear axle. I race 1/4 mile and only have one track here on the Island. Let me know if you need any more info on the car.

I currently race a 383 and now my third "906" head has developed a crack. I am thinking about getting a set of Trick flows. The engine is .060 over which makes it a 394 cu in. The bore is 4.31" which is smaller than the minimum bore recommended by Trick flow (4.32"). The engine has 12.5-1 Trw...
