    EFI to replace Edelbrock carb

True, but it's also the emotional response that keeps people doing this stuff at all. Unfortunately we live in a society that values emotion over logic, and that will only ever end in ruin.

Except that now we have the internet. Back then, it was the guys you knew and raced with/against, mostly in the local towns. Now you have thousands reading what you just wrote and every one of them has a different take and opinion on it. And then you add in the "keyboard warrior" mentality of...

    EFI to replace Edelbrock carb

How much do you drive your old car compared to your Challenger? Not poking at you, just curious. I had a '15 R/T 6M at one point. I had my '74 Duster at the same time, and while I still drove the Duster and messed with it, the majority of the time I drove the Challenger. Not that the Duster...

    EFI to replace Edelbrock carb

I wouldn't do it for all old school cars. But see post #52 for some of my reasons for some builds. Maybe new cars have spoiled me, but I sure like the drivability I see with the new stuff. Not going to build a 302 with a carb that makes 480HP and that anyone can drive, let alone a 378 that...

    EFI to replace Edelbrock carb

I wonder if that is why the Redeye and Demon went to a dual pump. Easier to control two smaller pumps rather than one large one?

    EFI to replace Edelbrock carb

I agree there are limits, but I disagree that there is no place for them. Try running a 1000hp motor on a carb and letting someone's mom or wife take it to the store. "No, you have to feather the throttle until it get's warm. No, don't whack it open like that, just enough to keep running...

No argument. The thread kind of went off the tracks into the plusses and minuses and who like what and why. It was just a general comment, but I agree it probably isn't helpful to the OP.

    EFI to replace Edelbrock carb

Personally, PWM fuel pump control makes a lot of sense, big pump or not. Why have the pump thumping away at full speed all the time and bypassing a bunch of fuel that isn't needed? And with PWM there is no need for a regulator at all, just a sensor. Not that it is cheaper, the controller kits...

    EFI to replace Edelbrock carb

My brother and I used a returnless system on his 6.4 swapped Demon with a Corvette filter. We even went to GM for the filter as I had heard of problems with the aftermarket ones. His motor has a cam and aftermarket intake and MMX suggested a big in tank pump. When we energized the system the...

    1974 Dodge Dart Sport rebuild

Just so you are aware, the factory DS manifold for a '74 is only really different from the 340 you have in that it has the flanges for the heat stove like the 318 manifold. I had the same 340 manifold you have and swapped to the '74 style so I could get a spark plug boot heat shield. Doesn't...

    Gen3 main cap bolts

I understand. FWIW, I wouldn't call moving a couple bolts around as "opening up" the bottom end. :)

    Gen3 main cap bolts

Note that the above info is from the 6.2 section of the FSM. The 5.7 shows different specs and it seemed like you were working with a HC motor so I made sure to clip info from that section.

    Gen3 main cap bolts

Here's what I found in the 2015-18 Charger FSM I have: Hopefully you can read that. Here is a clip of the torque specs. Note that while it does say new fasteners must be used for rods and oil pan bolts, it doesn't say that for the main cap bolts.

Could use some help identifying some roller rockers

No argument. Nice thing is, I don't have any plans for these heads right now and whatever I might use them on probably doesn't need anything as "exotic" as this setup. So nothing I need to lose sleep over, at least for now.
