Alrighty. You said earlier it's an overdrive shifter unit though, i should get a normal factory A-body shifter unit and rods as replacements for it so i dont need to modify anything?
Couldn't find any other then the patten numbers, havent disassembled the shifter and handle yet so could not find any numbers on the shifter so far. There is a number on one of the shifter linkage tabs but idk if that helps.
Hello!
Can someone help me identify this shifter and shifter handle, what car did it come from, is it a console handle?
The transmission has no vin on the side but has what looks to be a date on the side near the front that reads 5-23-66
I am planning on instilling this transmission into my 73...
It's not very hot here about 10°c which is about 50° Fahrenheit. The car Is in a non insulated repurposed sheet steel barn. So basically protected from rain, wind and snow. Car had been running for over 5 min when the picture was taken
Have not noticed anything in the valve covers but now that you mention it i have seen a slight creamy something on the dip stick.
It does have an electric choke.
Allright I'm sorry I didn't provide any info at all just sort of sharing it :P But here we go :D
Engine is a 78 block 360 with stock internals (I think) with the original for this car 73 340 heads (same as 360) surface planed to oblivion. Engine has new edelbrock performer rpm intake and a 600...
The black line is more on the left side of the car but still on both. Looks like its sut and water mixed. It also smokes more on the left.
The car was started yesterday also but before that not for 2 weeks. And kept smoking like that after it got hot but not driven (hence the reason I think it...
I feel like there might be something wrong. But I dont know if it's just running rich, wrong timing, bad intake gasket, bad head gasket, or all of the above.
I have a 73 duster with a 360 and a 727 with some aftermarket slapstick shifter.
When i got the car the kickdown lever was not connected to the carb and there for not in use but the car had not been driven for at least 3 years.
When I switched the intake and carb I removed the lever completely...
.85 is 318 car correct? Does that mean someone has changed the torsion bars from my orginal .87 or could it be that it came with .85 from the factory despite being a 340 car? Im pretty sure someone went through the suspension many years ago.
Hello!
I am fixing up the front suspension and steering in my 1973 Duster 340. I have two pairs or torsion bars. One set is the one that was in my Duster and the other set i got from a guy who repaced the torsion bars from his 73' Duster 318. Im not sure but i think he said he replaced his...
