[SOLD] 1996 Dodge B3500 5.9L Van $600 OBO. Knoxville, TN

FWIW, I used the Eastwood rust treatment on the hood after I stripped the paint just to get any pits neutralized. Leaves a phosphated surface. Was about to start that on the top then epoxy prime both when the running troubles started.

[SOLD] 1996 Dodge B3500 5.9L Van $600 OBO. Knoxville, TN

For sale is my 1996 Dodge B3500 5.9L/Auto. 161+k miles. Currently not running. Wife wants it gone & no time, money, or energy to get it going again. I would love for a Mopar guy to haul it off, fix it, & get it back on the road. But if someone here doesn't buy the whole blue tamale, I'm pulling...

Sad to see but will happen to most us all

I'll take care of the 850T for ya! Maybe we should start a big-block Guzzi thread; they're hemi-heads, after all.

Advice Needed: What to do with my '96 B3500?

We have one of those in the family, too - a 70's swb Tradesman with some custom-conversion touches. Never going to sell that bad boy. My dad made a bracket to put a B&M shifter right at the end of the driver's inboard armrest. When we were teenagers, he would haul either my brother's or my...

Advice Needed: What to do with my '96 B3500?

When I put it on Craigslist last year, I got calls from a BUNCH of gypsies/hippies/hobos who wanted it for exactly that purpose.

It's been a dream to have a '32 Ford, & yours looks great. Can we see a few more pictures, please?

Advice Needed: What to do with my '96 B3500?

Send me a PM if interested & we'll chat. Keep in mind this van is not road-worthy as she sits. Not sure it would make it to the end of my street without a failure, let alone to your area.

Advice Needed: What to do with my '96 B3500?

Totally agree! That's really the question - how to make her happy & what's the best way to dispose of the vehicle. Option 1 was never really an option (my dad used to "get rid of it" by keeping cars at friends houses - not doing that). I'd love for a real Mopar guy to take it & put it back on...

Pics of engine & interior... I've tried to maintain everything stock.

Advice Needed: What to do with my '96 B3500?

Thanks for the replies. I was thinking to keep this a philosophic discussion about the calculus of fix vs. sell vs. scrap vs. life, rather than a tech article or a for sale ad, but since you ask... Van was a Chrysler program vehicle I bought 1 year old with 30k miles. It was hit in the rear or...

Advice Needed: What to do with my '96 B3500?

I have a '96 B3500 Ram Maxi Wagon with around 160k miles. I love it, but it needs significant mechanical help that don't have the time or know-how (for some things) to give it. My wife demands that it go as a condition of spending money on my other projects. Here's my choices: 1) keep it, try...

What kind of rocker shaft is this?

That's pretty serious rust pitting you're seeing on the 273 shaft. It was obviously like that for a long time in the car; but then again, it was in a junkyard. Thanks for the info, Gents.

What kind of rocker shaft is this?

Yeah, wasn't planning on using the grooved one. Dad used to go on junkyard crawls & pull the rocker assemblies off any 273's he came across, so not surprised they're trashed. But any new ones will need to have 273 style oiler holes for a mechanical cam, correct?

What kind of rocker shaft is this?

Greetings, Gents. In my dad's stash of parts I found a pair of these rocker shafts (on left in pic). They appear to be plugged on the ends, but as you can see, the ends are smooth & rounded. The oil holes are straight through & appear in-line with the mounting holes. >> Anyone know what these...
