There's a lot of us on here that have enclosed trailers, and I used my for the same purpose, temp storage while building a garage. There's a lot of ways to discourage theft, but it's no
different whether they break into your garage or steal your trailer. Just make sure you got good...
24' Minimum, 5500 min per axle. Beavertail rear ramp, use a winch to move vehicle in/out, therefore no need to climb in/out of car. I bought a top notch, used trailer off of craigslist. Just be patient, you'll find one.
Even though this is a late (6 month) reply.. Yes, tie the Brown and the Blue/White wires together (one is the START and the other is the RUN off the key ignition switch) when bypassing the ballast resistor.
When both are connected together and tied to the red lead, it provides 12v signal...
Congrats! I ran a new ground to every mounting bolt/screw on each device in the ignition chain for assurance.
Put a link on here of what you bought so everyone else will know what worked for you.
The HEI conversion shouldn't have any effect on the timing due to the fact you use the same distributor, it should just giving you a hotter spark (if you went to a high voltage coil) and a bit more reliability. Other than regapping the plugs, there shouldn't be diff with idle and throttle response.
Spent this morning converting from ECU to HEI. Regapped the plugs, running like a champ. I bypassed the ballast, but left everything in tact so I can go back to ECU. I will post pics in the next day or two.
I already tried that, the 71 Duster/Valiant wiring diagram doesn't show the ECU electronic ignition. The ignition switch doesn't show individual terminations at the key switch. Nothing shows the function of each wire. I currently have the 4 pin ecu - single ballast resistor setup. Thanks
I tried the HEI setup on my 71 Duster, had no spark so set it up on the bench and it's sparks no problem. I believe I'm not isolating the ignition 'start' and 'run' leads to trigger the 12v relay. Does anyone know the pin assignments coming off the bulkhead wiring block for both start and run...
